How many here are members?

Have a quick question, I work in one state, live in another. Which state council should I join if I were to join and why?

I am a member but I am not involved with with the state council. I would join the council in the state I work if possible. The issues will pertain to your employer.

Contact your chapter or state president or someone on the council to help you. We have 2 board members who live in another state and we were able to help them.

I was in the same boat. I'm a member of the state council in the state I worked in.

I am a new member, but I am a little disappointed that they don't have any CEU's for us ER Techs. They advertise membership for CNA's and EMT's, but don't have any way of involving them. Oh, well... I'll be a nurse in 2 years, and then I can utilize their offerings.

I'm a member & have actually enjoyed the State council meetings with all the CEUs available. IMO joining the chapter where you work would be the most practicle thing to do.

I have enjoyed being an ENA member for 4 years. The support :welcome:is beyond belief. Check with the different state councils -- the one where you work, and the one where you live. They both should have a web site and a listing of contacts. Use those to make your decision. The one you align yourself with should be the one that will help you get the most from your membership. If that is not happening, come to a national conference. There will be people there to make you feel welcome and help you get involved where you can do the most good.

Are you a CNA or EMT?

If you're a CNA, check with your state board to see if it will accept CE credit from ENA. If you're an NREMT, the National Registry will accept most CE credit from ENA or ANCC. If your EMT is state-based, then check with your state organization.

Even if you can't utilize the CE hours, you can still attend and maybe learn something!

Thanks, sjt, I'll look into it!
