Hello,

I just want to ask if anyone here knows the salary or an average salary of a dialysis staff nurse in New York or in any other state in US? Thanks. :)

Wow these are all pretty good salaries. I have been trying to figure out the pay for an LPN in acutes. Are there any out there that maybe able to share a estimation of salaries? I'm in Maryland.[/quote']

Im not sure about LPN i used to live in Maryland too moved here in IL 2010..iprobbly estimate $19-$25.

Wow, do you realize they are getting over on you? Even without the CC position you still should be making more money. With the CC position you are taking on more responsibility and they arent even compensating you for that:no:

When I was an LPN I made more than that.

I agree you should be getting

more than that..

im a chronic dialysis nurse in WI with experience pays $30/hr.

Hi,

Is this hourly wage for an RN staff or for RN Team Leader? I ask because I will be starting with this company and I believe I was offered a low hourly wage for the RN Team Leader position. I'm just wondering what is a fair wage.

Specializes in RN, BSN, CHDN.

I have worked for Davita for 3 months and it has been wonderful so far!

What state are you in? I know companies can vary greatly by region!

Experienced acute Dialysis RN's in Wisconsin, Davita, make $30-$35/hr. What Davita does, is pay the same wage your hospital was paying you, when they "aquire" your department. I don't know what they offer RN's who approach them. I do know they are seriously looking for RN's in the Milwaukee area, to work in the Aurora hospital system. DaVita has situated their company well in the erratic changing medical field with all the Obama care changes. Their management has gotten involved in the government end of dialysis.

What do you mean, the government end of dialysis?

Do you know what the environment is at Aurora? I've heard certain things and you could not pay me enough to step foot in there

Medicare reimburses for dialysis. That means the government controls, directs, & tells you exactly how dialysis care is to be done. Right down to changing gloves at what intervals. What meds can be given depending on hemoglobin etc. The government dictates to the Doctors & the business's that own dialysis clinics. One of the more recent items, is a requirement for all dialysis technicians to be certified within a certain period of time after starting employment. A requirement for a RN to be on the premises etc, etc. The government controls the water standards. Pretty much everything to do with dialysis. There are volumes and volumes of rules and regulations pertaining to dialysis. Dialysis clinics get in trouble if they miss something. To the best of my knowledge, Davita was right at the bargaining table with the government telling them how things should be done. That puts them in a better position for job security.

I might have an opportunity to find out. From personal dialysis experience when you have management changes, & ownership of your job changes, everything changes. It's beyond frustrating to relearn how you are supposed to do something, that you have been doing for years. It goes right to the government regulations. When big dialysis companies buy out or start to manage units, they will expect the staff to follow all the policies & procedures. There are numerous items that slow a dialysis RN down. The Doctor is standing there, get the pt. on now. The business wants you to do this and that, and this FIRST before you start your pts. All sorts of safety related items & water related items. All sorts of "cover your butt" documentation prior to starting a tx. There are rules on Hepatitis B status, regarding which pts. can be cared for by the same RN. You have a job you like and enjoy, & then one day you wake up to all the above. It doesn't make for happy workers. You figure it out. Follow the rules, & it will get better. When someone is paying you to do a job, you do it their way.

I was referring to the culture and atmosphere of Aurora staff towards DaVita personnel. Not the job itself.
