Think CNAs will pick up LPNs duties in hospitals?

Now since hospitals are no longer hiring LPN's I think CNAs could possibly have more job requirements later in the future. CNA's already do EKG's and blood draws at some hospitals with further training.

In the LPN course at my college they do not teach IV's, they are told they wont do anything invovling IVs but yet when hired they prepare them! The only thing they cant do is push meds.

Somebody will have to pick up the duties right, or you think Im wrong here?

Im in Palm Beach FL and students and teachers keep saying LPNs arent being hired anymore in hospitals, they are more in LTC than any other facilities.

Oh, I know a lot of hospitals that hire them here, but they do want them to have some experience.

LPNs do a lot more than CNA work. Not that CNAs don't have an important place but they can not take the place of licensed personnel.

they would get a different pay rate DUH!

In my area the RNs are doing it all. No more LVNs in the hospitals and only 1 or 2 CNAs for an entire floor.
