So I filled out many CNA application and it ask for the CNA License Number, but I didn't receive my yet so I wrote "Currently in progress", is that be ok? And if I want to know my License # what do I do now? I did try to check for my # at the Registry website of California but not sure where to find it. My last question is, so my full name include: First name, Middle name and Last name. But if my CNA certification didn't include my middle name on it would it be ok, I mean does it affect me when I apply to work cos all my papers like SS #, driver license # and stuff include my middle name as well. I didn't recieve my CNA certification yet but I know it wouldn't have my middle name on it once I receive it cos when I received my CNA diploma it doesn't have either, it's the school mistake about this lil part.

I, too, use my middle name and find it difficult to get entities to include it, like on credit cards and such. You just have to insist. As for your CNA number, it should be ok to write, "awaiting issue of number" until you get one. I would continue to call and look on the website if it were me, just out of being anxious about it. Congratulations on attaining your CNA.

I don't know how it is there, but here (IL) they don't give a number, it just goes by your social security number, whether or not you are listed in the registry.

Welcome to my world! In California it takes 16 weeks to get an official certificate and maybe a number.

I've been so anxious about that I regret taking the expensive CNA training. Well, I've lost many opportunities to land a good CNA job just because I don't have that number.

I called the regestry and once I enter my SS# it says that "an application has not been received" and I "can not be employed as a CNA." This whole process is so frustrating.

When I passed the state exam, the Red Cross kept my application. Well, about a week ago I called them and they said they haven't sent the app. and my exam scores to the registry.

SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!

I feel for all of you!! In Maryland, we have to submit fingerprints & undergo both a state and federal background check before we are issued a license number. In the meantime we do receive a 90-Day Temporary license number, which is sort of helpful, but not too helpful because employers don't want to hire you until your permanent # comes in :(

keep calling them. I passed the cna classes here in california in feb 2009 and got my license in Oct which took like 8months because the school did not send my finger print to the department of justice. I kept calling them every week and finally a lady did a follow up and told me the dept did not get any finger print from my school and I had to do a new finger print and it took me like 7-10 days later and I got my lincense

Thank you all for your replies and advices, I'll call in today to ask about my license # cos I need it to put it on my Job Application!!!

I hope we get that number soon! I need a CNA schedule where I can work weekends, or nights. The only way is having that number.

It's just so disappointing how long it takes to get it!
