Financial Aid

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

I see that financial aid is available through Chamberlain College. The total tuition for the Rancho Cordova campus in California is 81,000. Does anyone know how much financial aid would cover?

..The financial aid office knows. Call them.

Specializes in GENERAL.

81K. Yikes!!!

OP, try a community college and take the prerequisites at a fraction of the price and see how you do.

After that take it from there and finish at a school that won't put you in debt hell for years to come.

81K is an enormous cost and that doesn't include books and mystery fees for god knows what.

Go to (collegescorecard.ed.gov) and find schools that don't trade on the stock market and build a life where the fruits of your labors go to numero uno.

They actually include all basic fees such as books into their estimate. They g8ve the information in a packet showing cost for bsn, rn-bsn, and fnp tuition and fees.

How much?????????????????????????? :nailbiting:

I'm with Buyer beware.....get down to your local CC and check out their nursing programs. You'll be astounded at the difference in price. I will be enrolling in an ASN/BSN combined degree (I'll graduate with both an Associates degree in nursing and a Bachelors degree in nursing at the same time) for well under $20K, and that *includes* the cost of uniforms, books etc. If I took the ASN alone, I would be looking at well under $10K.

The degree is exactly the same.....a degree from a community college is not considered "less". Other than LESS MONEY! LOL!!

To get an idea of how much financial aid you *could possibly* get (it's not guaranteed!) I suggest you register on the FAFSA website. (Word of warning.....make sure you go to the actual fafsa.ed.gov website. There are several websites that look similar but are not the federal one).

Complete all the info they ask for (such as your tax info, income, and so forth). They usual will be able to provide the estimated amount of aid you can hope to receive (assuming you fulfill all other requirements).

Nobody here can give you an accurate figure, or even say with any certainty that you would receive ANY federal aid, because it is based on your personal financial situation (and I don't suggest you share that on here!!).

Having said all that, I would strongly, STRONGLY, suggest you look into your community college. The federal aid you may receive would go A LOT further to cover those costs that the $81,000!!!

Overall, good advice.

Except that they aren't the same degree. Chamberlain is all BSN or up, as I recall. This is not the same as an ADN from the community college. Gets you the same license, but not the same degree.

FYI, the real FAFSA site is a .gov :

Home - FAFSA on the Web - Federal Student Aid

My bad! I thought that Chamberlain was the ADN too!

If IFC is 00000000, You'll received $5,821 a year.

Do you know of an affordable school in the Atl metro area that admits students dismissed from a previous program?
