Specialties Case Management

I have recently applied for a position with Humana. I have read a lot of negative comments on glass door from previous employees, but not much information on RNs that work for Humana. Can anyone give any insight?

Thanks so much,

Cindy

Heads up- mass layoffs at Humana at Home last week.

Can you tell us more? I just started as a contractor through an agency.

Also, if you contract through an agency, do youguys get the emails about new clients directly or does your agency get them and assign you without input? Can you switch to Humana directly if you start as an agency contractor?

Hello Everyone!! I wondered if anyone can give me any insight on the salary range that Humana offers for Telephonic Case Managers? I just got called today for the second interview with Montage and received a very informational e-mail with instructions and a list of basic benefits, which I must say look very good, but I have ZERO clue what kind of salary they offer. I am really excited, because it would fit my family's needs so well since my husband is disabled...but I wonder if it will be as lucrative as working in the field. Anybody who can share any ballpark information, I would appreciate it:) E-mail me at [email protected] Thanks soooo much in advance for any insight!!

Hello,

First of all, congratulations on getting a second interviewí ½í¸Š. Have you had your second interview yet? If so, when, how did it go and have you heard anything else from them or received an offer? I'm wondering how long Humana's hiring process usually takes?

So sorry that I took so long to answer. I just moved here and I have been so busy!! I JUST FINISHED my second interview this AM!! It went really good, the ladies were really nice and it lasted about 45 minutes and they actually did not even touch on salary. They said I would hear back in the next week or two:) It was just as expected- they informed me of the job description, which was basically the same info as was in the e-mail that I received prior to the interview. Then they asked a little bit about my resume and experience and finished off with those behavioral/situational type questions. So now I wait and see if an offer is made and if so, what it is!!:) Good luck to you!!!! Lets keep each other posted on how this goes:)

Ok I emailed you. Thanks!

Ha! I have 30! I'm hourly too, but only get paid 40 hrs! Go figure. ....

I work for an agency also. RN and get $23 hr 40 hrs not salaried/no overtime. 30 members right now. 28 cents mi mileage. I do have benefits that I pay for. Oh and let's not forget paid holidays. I still work 40+ hrs/wk so wth does a paid holiday help me? You have a better position than you think.

I know this thread is old, but if anyone is still employed with Humana or doing any type of telephonic case management, I'd love to hear how things are going. I've been researching the position and contemplating a change. I currently work as a patient navigator and do a lot of phone coordinating with patients. I like this type of work but would love to be able to do it from home and avoid commutes, snow, etc.

I've read and heard good and bad reviews of this type of job but would be interested to hear what the latest opinions are, specifically for Humana.

Hi MrsVic1:

I started out in the In Home Care Manager position about 3 years ago thru an agency but already knew about the Independent Contractor (IC) position. This position now has a telephonic nursing component to it, so it may be something you are interested in. I know they have telephonic nurses but I recently spoke to one and they told me that they had dramatically reduced the permanent telephonic staff. The only drawback that has occurred (IMHO) is the reduction in payments. As an IC, it has gone from $300 per client a month for 3 to 4 visits, to $165 a month with 2 visits. Sorry if a lot of this sounds like jargon. In this position you get $80 for making 2 phone calls a month to your members if they are on Telephonic care. It has taken me a very long time (over 6 months) to work up to what I would consider part time from a caseload of 5 members to a caseload of 11 members that I see out in the field. None of my members have warranted movement over to Telephonic care in the 8 months I've been back on board as an Independent Contractor. HTH.
