Which rpn college has a better program?

So I just applied to the rpn program at Centennial college and George Brown college for the janruary 2011 intake (toronto canada)... I recently just got accepted to centennial, and im still waiting from george brown(they said they will start giving out offers in September)... But i don't know what school to go to... I heard SOME ups and downs about centennial.. mostly downs about their useless faculty, if anyone has heard or experienced the program at centennial, please let me know?!?!

I also heard a lot of pros about george brown college.. but just in case i don't get in and centennial is my last and only option, i want to know ahead and be prepared for what's to come...

so if anyone has any advice or input or anything about these schools please let me know!!!

I've neither attended GBC or Centennial but I've heard less complaints from GBC friends of mine than those in Centennial. My friend was in the Bridging program @ Centennial and her prof screwed something up and she had to repeat a semester. The only good thing that came out of that is that the school agreed not to put it in her record that she had to repeat the semester because it was the prof's mistake. But do keep in mine this is a one time event. Tip: Everytime you correspond with a prof., SAVE IT! Enough with the negative, the positive is that Centennial has a good simulation lab. They video tape the situation and then you watch it and debrief in another room. I'm not sure if GBC has that. Either way both schools are well known in producing RPNs. Best of luck!

GBC has that too! :) I'm starting the Practical Nursing program this sept. The simulation lab is on the 8th floor, I saw it, it's really cool! :)

how come GB offer more subjects in their PN program? Centennial have 18 subjects and GBC have about 28. 10 more as compare to Centennial.

I have no idea, but I think that how many hours per week each subject is should also be considered.... Maybe in GBC there's more subjects, but they are each less hours per week. :rolleyes:

GBC has that too! :) I'm starting the Practical Nursing program this sept. The simulation lab is on the 8th floor, I saw it, it's really cool! :)

All of them have simulation labs but I think Centennial is the only one that video tapes each simulation so that you could go over it after... at least that's what they told me when I attended their 4th year preparation.

I believe Mcgill pretty good too, their med school is one of the best in the country and nursing is part of med.

The OP was asking about RPN programs.McGill is a university and only has BSN programs. Nursing is not part of med school. Med school is for becoming a doctor.

I went to Georgian College and I was happy with my education. Since nursing education is regulated in Canada pretty much any college offering the program is going to deliver the required teaching. There are no schools that are vastly different/ better than any other.
