Hi everyone!

I recently received an offer of admission to Kwantlen's BSN Post-Baccalaureate Program in which you can get your Bachelors in Nursing in 27 months. This program is to commence in Sept 2013.

I was wondering if anyone has any feedback regarding this program. What's it like compared to the Undergraduate BSN 4-year program at Kwantlen? How is the program in general compared to other BC Nursing Programs? etc.... Any help or information is appreciated!

If you have also been accepted to the program or is thinking of applying, feel free to comment!

Hi all,

I just applied to the BSN PB at Kwantlen, and I am currently taking an A&P 6 credit course through Athabasca, set to finish June 2014. I have all of the other pre-req's. I have a BSc Psych from 2008.

My questions - Did you have any in-progress courses sent to Admissions (i.e., an in-progress transcript - such as my A&P course)?

Also, I am confused about the non-gpa admission criteria. If it's not based on gpa, then what are they going on?

I saw a few posts that mentioned serial order of application as the basis for acceptance. If that is the case, I may be out of the running for applying in Feb. with a Mar. 30 deadline?

Thank you!

Hi J024 and ruddnaloy :)

Once you receive a conditional offer of admission, you have to get your vaccination record up to date - that includes the seasonal flu shot, and for us it also included H1N1. I have heard people with outstanding records were told to get the record up to date before clinicals start. Hope that helps!

ruddnaloy: I don't know about courses in progress - sorry that I cannot help you there. I can, however, tell you that admissions for us were based on serial order of application. I found the admin people very friendly and helpful, so if you are afraid you might be too late, you could contact them and ask about your chances. They may or may not answer you, but its worth asking.

Hi Ruddnaloy,

I've called admission and ask about prioritizing of admission.

They will admit by date of application and completeness of courses.

So if you applied late but completed all the pre-req. then you will have priority to the people who have not complete the pre-req.

Does anyone know the if this means I'm accepted: "Offered (qual with conditions)"? I wanna be excited, but I'm confused.

Cheers - good luck!

Hello Shoegal22

I'm in the same situation as you :)

I think it does mean you are offered a seat with the condition of fulfilling other requirements (including first aid, flu shot, etc.)

I'm in the same boat! Not sure if I should get excited yet or not, haha!

I also got my conditional acceptance woo! I am just wondering if anyone knows about immunization requirements, whether we need them ALL done by May 19 or if we can continue to get them up until the program start date? Any info would be appreciated :)

Hey everyone! I just got conditional acceptance too. My deadline to send in everything is also the 19th of May. I was wondering if anyone had any actual knowledge about the program? Ive read the website a million times and I know its partly online but aside from that dont know much else about it since its pretty new. Anyone have any information to share? It would be much appreciated :)

Hello! I emailed them a few days ago just to clarify how we submit everything and she touched on the immunization part!

"For your immunization we will take it once it has been stamped and signed. If you still have outstanding immunizations once it has been stamped and signed then it is up to you to complete."

So it looks like you can do them after the 19th =)

Thanks for the reply Swaybe! I emailed them a few days ago as well but haven't received any answers is there anyway you could send me the email they sent you? my email is ********I would really appreciate it! I feel like a fish out if water

hi pinkbubbles,

I don't know a lot yet but I will be doing the program living in a different city so for the most part it is online and working with local families etc. I know there is a two week orientation in Langley at the start and a three month practical in Langley for third term that I will have to go down for--let me know if you hear anything :)

Hey junoboy, thanks for your reply! What city are you living in if you don't mind my asking? I live on the north shore myself so I am happy it's a partial online program because it makes the whole commuting thing a little easier lol
