Hi all,

I was wondering if there are any nursing students from West Coast university? I was wondering what their schedule is like once they started the nursing courses and clinicals? Are they evening/weekend classes? Are there evening/weekend clinicals?

Thank you for your response!

This school is straight up garbage. I just recently withdrew from this school. Definitely not worth your $100k. If you wanna know details shoot me a pm.

Hi sodope,

cyjoo830,

You have the requisite 15 posts logged, so the PM feature should be enabled.

Just below the member's name should be four icons.

PM icon is the paper and pencil (when you run your cursor over it will appear "Send a private message to ---- [member's name] --- " ).

Click on it and compose/send your message.

Or, go to the My Account tab, top middle of each page.

Click and in the drop-down menu select Create Message.

I'm a good student and a quick learner, but the one week that I spent as a student at West Coast University was more than enough for me. Fast-paced is an understatement. Somehow managing to pass a test doesn't work for me. I need and want to understand what I'm studying and to spend enough time with the subject to have a prayer of remembering what the course was about. Just way too fast for me.

this school sounds like a scam if i ever did hear one!! 130,000+ in debt?!? r u serious? You aren't going to be able to pay that back any time soon!! I don't care if u're a nurse, u have other ish to pay without having to worry about $130,000 ! wow. I know it sounds appealing- no waiting list, no pre-req's for bsn, and super quick, but it IS too good to be true. First off, their tuition has only increased $6,000 in the last 2 years...so in the next few years it takes to finish your degree, u'll be racking up MORE debt! They also haven't graduated a bsn class yet- they're brand new! Since they're a for-profit school, they could technically stop offering classes one day and you would be stuck with classes that don't transfer anywhere in a PILE of debt.

Think lonnng and hard on this one.

All that glitters is not gold.

One more thing about paying the loans... if you aren't able to secure a loan elsewhere, you can get one thru WCU. The problem is, it has to be paid off in full before you can graduate/take the NCLEX.

I am attending WCU Anaheim campus. I have been since April of 2009. I will just answer your questions:

Once you begin your nursing course and clinicals you have classes at any day of the week.

Yes, there are evening and weekend classes - even in your pre-reqs. I am in micro biology currently and attend all day on Sat. (7-5:30) - there are a few other classes going on during that time (OC campus) so others are also on campus. It is the first time I have had a class on a Sat. You do not have a regular class on Sun, but could have clinical.

Yes, you could have an evening or weekend clinical.

Hope that helps.
