Hey loma6685,

I was wondering what kind of experience do you have within the hospital? Also, what in your resume/experience have you done to make you stand out and get called for interviews? I have only had 1 call and nothing further than a phone interview after applying for at least 60 positions. I would like to know some tips that could help me and others in the future too. Thanks :)

Hi,

I graduated in December from a school in LA so I don't have any experience with the hospital. I have a BSN and I also have a BA in Psychology and Communication. My GPA is strong and I have volunteer work prior to entering nursing school.

As far as tips, maybe you could have someone look at your resume. Make sure you highlight those things that are unique to you. Also, it is just an incredibly rough market in the Bay Area. Many of my classmates had no trouble finding jobs in the LA area so it's a little frustrating to have so few options up here. Things are bound to improve though. Just keep looking and maybe volunteer and get other certifications to make you marketable, like ACLS, PALS etc. I was thinking of doing that if I can't find anything soon.

Good Luck!

I also received a rejection letter this past Friday :-/ I was so bummed out b/c I got a rejection letter from both Washington and Stanford during within the same day :( I had a "good feeling" about Washington, but guess i was wrong! Job market is sooo horrible in Bay Area.

For anyone who has had an interview at Washington, hope all went well. Did they say how many people they are thinking of hiring and on what floors/departments? I know most of the new grad programs in the Bay Area, it a hand full of people at best being hired; just wondering how they are handling their program. :)

So, I have an interview with Washington Hospital this week, and was curious if anyone has had an interview with them yet? What format interview was it? What kinds of questions? Has anyone had a second round interview with them? Any suggestions and/or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! :-)

Oh and to answer other's questions, I have no idea how many people they are interviewing or how many people they are hiring! I hope they are able to hire quite a few!!!

Has anyone made it to the second group interview with WHHS? It's next Tuesday and I got the vibe that it may include some simulation lab stuff. Anyone know if that's true or what to expect? Thanks!

I have also applied on June 14 and my application status says "application forwared to manager" as well. Let me know when you get a phone call or your status has changed. I wonder how many people applied for this position. I'm just glad to hear that they will be taking in 20. I'm so used to hearing 10 or less! Do you have any idea when the program starts? Well Good luck to you :)
