UCLA New Grad Summer 2012 program

Awww, sorry Oakley. It is so tough out there.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

When I checked my status it stated that I withdrew my application on 3/17/12!!!! I'm guessing they were going to change my status to something, so perhaps I was booted -- with all my connections and still booted. I'm wondering now from the above post if because I graduated in August with my BSN that I didn't meet the criteria. I have my RN, ACLS, PALS and taking my NRP on Tuesday. And now, still no job.

I called the office, but of course saw the change at 5pm on Saturday, so just left a message. Bru-tal. Only light in this situation is that I didn't receive a rejection email, so who knows what is going on. Then again, the rejection is most likely an automated email, so if I got switched to withdrew, that would explain it.

I'm so sorry! :( Brutal is right! Although the program starts in August so if you graduated in August you should still meet the 1-year deadline.

Reading the other threads, some "qualified" people got rejected as well. So, even if you were super awesome, it all depends on the recruiter that looked on your application. But it's unfortunate that you "withdrew" your application - that must be a major mistake on their part... technical malfunction?

Unfortunately, I wish I had better news on my end. :( So, here's good thoughts to you! Hoping your situation gets fixed pronto! :)

@ sugarlips: I don't think it was because you graduated in August. A friend who graduated in August e-mailed the Nursing Recruiter and she was told that she would be fine and still eligible. It sounds like the "Withdrawn Application" is a mistake. I wouldn't lose hope just yet!

It's really great that we all are trying and get those certifications. I honestly don't know what they are looking for in candidates. I say this because I know people who have gotten hired that didn't have RN or ACLS yet. There are others who have certs and AMAHZING volunteering experiences as well, and they STILL don't get hired. My friends think that maybe they're not even looking at applications all the way. I talked to a friend working in HR and they said there is no law that forces HR to look at all the apps. So if there are 1000-3000 applications, I don't think HR is gonna bother even look at the last couple hundred apps when they already figured out who they wanted to interview by looking at the first 500. I'm not trying to discourage but shed some light on the situation and maybe give soem explanation as to why it's just so hard for us!

Despite all this, lets not lose hope. Honestly, the only thing we can do is to try our best and I think everyone on this forum is doing just that.

Yes... I think it shows a lot that we're investing so much time and money in getting these certifications...

sugarlips- hope they get back to you soon and they just made a mistake on their end... did you apply right when the application opened?

Wow, is UCLA already making their selection? I haven't seen any changes to my application yet, other than the "got it and received" status.

Yes, they are at least sending out rejections. I think if your status has not changed that is good news. Interviews start on April 12th, so they have to move fairly quickly... Does anyone know whether applicants will receive a phone call from Talent Plus or whether they just use the survey? I need to know whether to answer calls I don't recognize. THanks!

I heard they're not doing phone interviews anymore and will only be using surveys.

They're still sending out rejection e-mails today. :(

I actually thought I had a chance with this one. :sniff:

So did I... starghadeer mentioned the possibility that maybe due to the volume of applications, they really don't read through them all. That's gonna be my pick-me up rationale while I read yet another rejection e-mail and keep reminding myself, Patience, Patience, Patience. :/
