any thoughts/opinions on these two units. im trying to figure out which job to take.. thanks =)

I don't know about UCSF.

UCLA has all ages of patients. Really great charge nurses. I work registry and can only be assigned adult patients but they do cardiac surgery on children too.

thanks!!

anyone else?

Hey!

Well I hope UCLA is a good bet, I have not heard ONE negative thing about the unit. I just got hired as a new grad for feb, and my friend who did her residency after med school there said it was a "crazy busy" unit, and that the nurses always knew more than her, so I figure why not learn from them? What did you decide??? I'm going up thursday to see the unit and check out everything, and if all goes well I guess I'll be a los angeles resident in a couple weeks!..... what a weird thought!

Steph

when did you have your interview in ucla?

Last thursday, the 12th I think it was.

Specializes in Transplant/Surgical ICU.

UCLA has a CTICU not a CVICU. And by the way, this post is over a year old, I'm sure the OP has already made her choice

Well then I guess she probably knows who has what, huh
