Absolutely. Agree with above! If you are afraid/nervous it means you care. I have been a nurse 5 years and I still sometimes get that feeling. You will start to learn to trust your instincts and when you do start feeling comfortable and like you know everything maybe it's time to move on and try something new!

Hey guys! Have you heard anything specific for next monday? I have all my appts for paperwork next week, so maybe they'll tell us then, but I just wanted to see if you heard anything, for some reason they had my email address wrong so I hadn't been getting their emails!

Hey! They told me there was going to be four sessions for new hire paperwork, and they are listed on the pink paper we got at orientation. I think during the HR presentation, we actually signed up for one, and then there's a couple dates for new grad orientation- in feb and march. That's what I got. Anyone else?!?!

How exciting! How random that its gonna be us three and we already know each other! I just went up last week and I met Cheryl and a couple other staff members and talked to a nurse who just finished the last new grad program. Im still looking for a place to live, but I'm in SD so it's easier for me to go up and look. How did you find a place? I havent heard an official date yet either, but I talked to the educator I think it was the other day and he said they probably won't decide till after the holidays, and that it will prob be toward the end of the month and to make sure we schedule our immunization review and physical and to call them after. Is that what you heard? Send me a private of your actual email if you want, that way we can all coordinate and make sure we're hearing the same things!!!

I have been going through the same thing!!! I don't wanna live far away cuz I don't wanna deal with traffic etc. Where are you coming from? I'm thinking of brentwood/westwood or beverly hills area. Maybe we can be neighbors so atleast we'll know someone!

I decided to take the job for sure, I was really impressed how inviting people were when I visited and how I saw them all work together. I can't wait!!! What did you guys all decide? And where are you going to be living???

Hey! Well I hope UCLA is a good bet, I have not heard ONE negative thing about the unit. I just got hired as a new grad for feb, and my friend who did her residency after med school there said it was a "crazy busy" unit, and that the nurses always knew more than her, so I figure why not learn from them? What did you decide??? I'm going up thursday to see the unit and check out everything, and if all goes well I guess I'll be a los angeles resident in a couple weeks!..... what a weird thought! Steph

Hey! So, I just got hired for the CT ICU at UCLA from the new grad fair too! I'm really excited about it, but I'm currently living in SD, so I'm pretty nervous about moving to LA. I haven't heard one negative about UCLA, anyone have any tips or suggestions, or anyone been through the new grad program or know anyone who's doing it? What do they say? I'm currently working as a Telemetry nurse, because I wanted to get my bearings down before I went to the ICU. I'll take any tips or suggestions anyone has. I'm going on a tour of the unit on thursday, as I've never been before, but I'm like 99.9% sure I'm going to love it. Oh, and where is a good place to live???? Thank you!!!

Hey! I'm a new nurse working on a tele floor, and I just accepted a position for the CT ICU in the Feb. new grad program at UCLA. I live in SD now, so I'm gonna have to move, just wondering if anyone has any advice or if anyone else reading is going there? Thanks for your help!!! Steph

Thanks for your comment, it's nice to hear someone loves it! Did you go to the new grad program or do you work there? I think I applied to the one in Santa Monica, it must be because they are starting interviews for Sept. start after their open house so I know it's not full yet! I'm applying other places too, that's just my first choice, and I guess if I don't get it as a new grad I can try again later, right?
