If I hear this/see this one more time, I'm gonna scream!
You know I have ran into this a lot to. I have even had them snap at me in front of patients for asking them to help or for even calling them for breathing treatments for patients just because they didnt feel like going down there right when I called them. I have meet some really wonderful RT, and I know they are not all like that but some of them really should get their priorities straight and consider why they chose their profession and if their answer is something other then to provide the best care for patients they need to find a new profession. Don't get me wrong I have some very wonderful RT at my job but a Few just a few should rethink their job career.

Do I need a better stethoscope?
I don't know if your stethoscope allows for you to turn head of it where it has two side you can lesson with but sometimes if you do that you can hear a little better. You may also want to check to make sure it isn't turned right now. That could be another reason, but some you can just twist the head to hear the sounds on the other side. Hope this helps if not you may have to get another one. I always used a 25 dollar one durning school that they sell with the bp kits and it worked really well

New nurse nights are days
Working as a new nurse for about a month now and currently working nights. I got offered to move to days and really confused what to do. I love nights and I don't ever really feel tired going in like i normally do during days. I do have two kids and married have worked hard to work out a good schedule to fit my life into theirs when I work. The disadvantage at nights is when I am off like tonight I can't convert myself back to days although during the weeks isn't so bad because my kids are in school so by the time they get home I am up and dinner is cooked. For a new nurse what do you suggest is best.

New nurse working for a month
Hey, I am a new nurse that has been working for a month now. Although I truely love this profession, I feel lost at times. I was just wondering how long that feeling would last. I remember once someone telling me that it typically took about a year before you really felt confident. I was just wondering if every new nurse goes through this.
