UC Davis RN Residency February 2014

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello! I just wanted to start a thread regarding the residency starting in February 2014 at UCDMC. Applications opened at midnight this morning. I wish everyone the best of luck!

Accelerated access unit also started calling yesterday.

Just interviewed with the Surgical ICU today. Not sure how I did, I rambled on a couple questions. Still, so honored just to be chosen for an interview.

To the people interviewing in the accelerated access unit: I volunteered there in 2011-2012. It is an awesome unit with awesome nurses!

Specializes in CCRN MedSurg Neuro Trauma Transplant ICU.

Congrats! I'm sure you rocked it! Do you know how many they are hiring for that unit? And was it individual interview? What kinds of questions did they ask?

Thanks in advance!

I was told by HR that they will continue interviewing up until February.

@kakammeier- Can you share any tips and advice on what to expect?? I got an email saying I'll get a call Monday to schedule an interview for Wednesday. Congrats to the rest who scored an interview! Let's keep this thread going! I'm scared =/

What unit are you interviewing for? Congratulations! You'll rock it!

Thanks, delmel1! It's for a GI lab position.

I heard that all units have the same set of questions. Does anyone know if this is true? Also, does anyone remember when the residency will begin and how many they're planning to hire?

Good luck to everyone!

jlcbsnrn - I also am interviewing for the GI lab! :) Congrats to you!

I talked to to a lady to schedule an interview and decided to pick next Monday as I have prior commitments on Wednesday :/

I really hope it doesn't affect my chances. :X

But did you decide to interview this Wednesday/Monday? :)

Did anyone else had an interview with UCD 14 Ortho/Trauma unit? I had an interview last Friday, I'm not sure when I should be expecting to hear back from them...

Was this for Trauma ICU or the TNU?

It was Orthopedic unit, but they also have trauma and burn patients on their unit.
