UC Davis RN Residency February 2014

Hello! I just wanted to start a thread regarding the residency starting in February 2014 at UCDMC. Applications opened at midnight this morning. I wish everyone the best of luck!

I believe there are about 30 new grads in the last cohort. Not sure this time around. I believe there will be 1-2 spots available for NICU but that's the only unit I know about. Good luck to everyone.

I applied as well! My friend was hired in the last cohort and they took around 40 applicants. So hopefully they take at least that many this time around! Good luck everyone!

Has anyone heard anything regarding units that are hiring, or any interview calls yet? My status still says "Appl"... Wonder when they are planning on moving forward with the process since on their website it states contingent employment offers are usually given 6 weeks prior to the program start date. That would make it January 13... Anyone have any idea?

The ER no longer participates in the new grad program. Good luck to you guys, it's a hard place to work, but you learn a lot. :)

I don't know about you guys, but I've been dying to hear back from UC Davis! I spoke with someone from nurse recruitment (I think) and was told that applications will be looked through this week. They will then be forwarded to managers on the floors that are hiring, screened and then those who are still in the running will be contacted for interviews. Interviews will be conducted at the end of the month or beginning of February. Hope that helps!!!

Also, they received 900+ application!

I think all the status changes are general statuses for everyone, it's not individualized.

Does anyone know what units are hiring this round? CherryShoes previously mentioned that there may be 1-2 spots in NICU, but what about the other units?
