UC Davis RN Residency February 2014

Thanks for staring this thread! I hope we find out from them somewhat soon what units will be hiring this time around. However, I read on past UC Davis threads that they don't find out until like a month or so before the program starts.

If anyone finds out which units are hiring please let us know! Thanks.

I agree. It's so nerve racking! I'm also wondering how many applicants there are going to be. I know the last cohort had a cap of 500 but they didn't do that this time!

SO exciting! :) It's hard to think that we are competing against so many though. Where are you all from? Anyone applying from the East Coast?

With there being no cap this time I feel there may be over 2000 applicants. I hope they hire a big cohort!

I know UC Davis really bases whether you get an interview on what unit your preceptorship was done on and if that unit is hiring you have a greater chance of getting an interview. I feel the only thing I could possibly be even forwarded on is for only one unit. So, I hope they are hiring!

I feel like less people graduate in the fall though... wouldn't that mean less people would be applying vs. those who graduate in the spring? I can hope, right?

I don't think they've hired Peds for the past few internships. That's where I did my preceptorship lol I'm really hoping they are taking some this time around :nailbiting:

Hey everyone! I applied to the program as well. I'm applying from the East Coast and my school didn't offer a preceptorship, so it's really a long shot for me! Doesn't hurt to try though! Best of luck to everyone.

My friend talked to HR this morning for different reasons but she did learn that there were about 900 applicants this time around. Good luck everyone!!

900 applicants! I like hearing that number! lol. Mostly because I thought it would be around 2000 applicants since there is no cap.

Even then though, I hope we get a list of units that may be hiring semi-soon!

By the way, I have been trying to find this information on past threads but haven't seen it. Does anyone know how many people UC Davis usually hires for each cohort? I know it depends on the units hiring, but I thought seeing what numbers they usually hire each time would give a better idea for this upcoming cohort.

Last cohort I think they put in their website that they would hire 50-60 but I think it changed midstream and they didn't hire that many people. Not sure of the exact numbers though.

Thanks for the info, Keseratops! Wow 50/60 last time, I have a feeling that changed mid-stream too. I feel maybe they would hire at least 40 for each cohort but then thats just a guess. I hope we hear something about the process before January!
