Hi all,
Decided to start this thread to post updates about the SHARP New Graduate Nurse Residency Program for the August 2012 cohort.
Good luck!

You're Tall,I haven't talked to many outside of my class, but those of us who had at least a phone interview are all in a BSN program. I haven't heard from my friends in ADN programs yet, or anything from Sharp about what they're looking for.

In the new grad cohorts, almost all of them are BSNs. The very few that were non-BSNs are either internal employees and/or were already working on the BSN.

Meriwhen... That is not exactly true. More than half of my ADN class got new grad spots at Sharp and Scripps last go around and only a few were previously employed.
I can't speak for what they do at Scripps. I can only say what I've seen at Sharp Metro Campus (Memorial, et al.)...and that is pretty much what I posted. Possible that your classmates were hired at other Sharp facilities.

I agree with Meriwhen. At Memorial, most if not all are BSN trained (or are in the midst of receiving their BSN through an ADN to BSN program...many with two Bachelor degrees as nursing is a second career). As hospitals move to magnet status or strive to maintain magnet status, ADN's will be heavily encouraged to gain a BSN or most new hires will already have their BSN. It's the way this profession is headed. There are just so many BSN candidates to choose from nowadays.

Has anyone else had an interview, and how did it go for you? It was over so fast! lol
I wish you all luck! :)

Hi everyone,
It sounds like a long shot since it looks like those writing about getting interviews wrote that several weeks back, but does anyone know if Sharp is still contacting people for interviews? I haven't heard anything either way and cant find a way to check application status online. I applied to the postpartum unit at Chula Vista.
Any info/ update would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the update, boogeysmomRN! I also applied to L&D at Chula Vista. Didn't get any calls yesterday. I guess I wasn't selected.
Has anyone heard back from Sharp Memorial by any chance?

Did anyone apply to SHARP NICU?
I did...haven't heard anything though. Have you?
I heard back from Grossmont. I was not offered the Residency position. Really bummed but I won't give up looking. I wish you all the very best. :)

Keep positive thoughts. At least they let you know and you can move on.
