I haven't found a thread for this yet, so I figured I would start one! I am applying in August, after I have my grades from my summer courses. I was wondering what stats other applicants have as well :) I still have to complete human physio lab, general chem and lab, nutrition, and psych so I am not sure if I will get in this time around, but it can't hurt to apply!

Pervious major: Cell and Molecular Biology

Last 60 GPA: 3.4

Prereq GPA (so far): 3.9

TEAS Adjusted Individual Score: 92.7%

TEAS National and Program Percentile Rank: 99

Im excited to connect with other prospective students :)

Congratulations!!!!! Maybe that means we will hear about San Mateo sooner than I thought, since they were saying SF acceptances would go out mid February. Good luck!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! When does the SF cohort start? I applied to Oakland (1st choice, SM 2nd choice) and the waiting is so hard!

Congrats!!!! I'm hoping for mine soon. Applied to OAK campus

Specializes in Maternal Newborn.

Samuel Merritt's San Francisco center (campus) merged with San Mateo's last year. There is only one location now in the south bay - San Mateo. There are four ABSN cohorts at San Mateo each year: January, April, June and November.

[COLOR=#003366]ashymuhlee - did you receive acceptance to San Mateo's ABSN - April cohort?

I applied to the ABSN (Oakland) cohort and received an e-mail from Admissions that applicants for San Mateo (April) would be notified by mid-February and the Oakland cohort around the same time or shortly thereafter.

Congrats ashymuhlee!

I emailed the admissions department today to make sure they had received my final transcripts (I finished the last 2 prereq's this past fall semester so had grades for those 2 classes still to send over). The reply I got back was that the files were already over in the nursing department so they had no way of knowing if the transcripts were in my file or not. Does anyone know if it's the nursing department that makes the final decisions? And if so, would they reach out to admissions to check for any missing transcripts? I'm just worried that my app will get overlooked because of those missing grades, when the grades are in fact sitting in the admissions office. Any advice on this is greatly appreciated! :)

Congrats ashymuhlee! How exciting for you! Tlsmith29 - I, too, finished three prereq's this past fall semester and applied for SM. In order for SMU to have my final grades, I emailed my unofficial transcripts and express mailed my official transcripts. Then (because I didn't want any hanging questions) I called SMU to see if they had received them and a few days later I received an email stating that my application was considered complete. Did you email or mail your transcripts? I doubt they wouldn't consider you!

This has been a stressful process! I find myself 'refreshing' my email page constantly through out the day for any updates. I'm glad to have found this forum!

I too was late getting my transcripts in due to an error on my part. The Admissions counselor was very helpful and assured me that it would all be sent over together for review. This was just a few weeks ago.

Thanks for your supportive words SFGiantsFan27 and BrandieRN2014! Unfortunately, the school I took my courses at didn't post final grades until the 14th of this month! So I couldn't even send the unofficial transcripts until then. And luckily I was able to express mail the official transcripts just a couple of days later, but that was just last week. So if they sent our files over to the nursing department before the end of last week I don't think my grades would have made it in. I'm just hopeful that they'll see how good my grades were in the rest of my classes and not dismiss me completely and maybe make the effort to call over to admissions to see if my missing grades had come in. BrandieRN2014 - do you remember which counselor you talked to? I feel so bad calling them and bugging them...I know they have their hands more than full right now...but I also don't want to leave anything to chance! :)

For those that want to get into the Oakland campus, you'll find out by the 3rd week of February.

Hi tismith29 - we aren't allowed to post names on here. E-mail me @ [email protected] and I'll let you know. :)
