I was picked in the lottery!!! - page 5

O M G, I am soooo happy right now! Out of 585 applications, my name came up in the first 100, which means I should get into Spring 2014 at CCSF (they pick 50 for fall; 50 for spring). Nothing's set... Read More

They don't offer it.. you have to go to a specific testing site such as SFSTATE or in oakland. Here is the website where you can register and then have your scores sent to CCSF and other schools https://www.atitesting.com/Home.aspx

    hope this helps

    Awesome, thanks so much!

I just checked out that ATI website. Looks like all the available testing dates coming up in Oakland are only for Holy Names, Mills, St. Mary's, and Notre Dame students. Guess I will take it at SF State. Either that, or looks like I'd have to drive all the way out to Sacramento or Napa.

So I called again (im going crazy not knowing) and asked when the letters will start going out and they said they are reviewing around 300 apps to see who is qualified and from there they will go down the list I guess. I mentioned my number and she said not bad and knew my name and said I should hear at least by the end of April :/

Congrats!!!!! I also applied to CCSF, I am in the #120s so I was close.

What do you think my chances are?

I guess I'd have to hope that 20+ people don't qualify somehow, or decide to go elsewhere huh?

Oh dear lord I'm so nervous!!!!

Sounds like encouraging news, but my mind keeps racing. I keep thinking that nothing is for certain and something could go wrong, I don't know!

It would be nice to know in April. It's going to be difficult planning anything around not really knowing anything indefinitely.

I think I will talk to the nursing department in person tomorrow. Ill keep you all updated if I hear anything.

What other program did you decide to go to? Also did you know anyone that was in the 100s?

    Congrats!
You applied at the right time, just 2 years ago, CCSF still had the 80% re-applicants and 20% new applicants slotting (about 400 new applicants competing for 20 seat!).
But only 585 applicants? Last year was around 880--I was in the 300 range and got a call this January to see if I'm "ready to attend" at a moment's notice.
But I had to decline b/c I don't play this at-a-moment's-notice game, besides I had already got accepted to another program.

I am in the process of completing more prerequisites because I was planning on applying for MSN programs for non-nursing majors. I decided to apply to the CCSF ADN program because they required pretty minimum amount of prerequisites which I had already and I live nearby. So, if I am accepted, I am going! I'd rather go for the ADN and start sooner, rather than wait around for when I can apply and hopefully get into MSN programs. I'll do a bridge program later.

I might not be going to CCSF after all. I got my acceptance letter for the waitlist at NVC. It's much closer to me than SF, so I'm leaning toward that one, even though I might not start until Fall 2014. I've been on this journey of first just trying to get into nursing pre-reqs (impacted) and then finally taking them one at a time since the fall of 2009, so I've learned the virtue of patience in this process. Being on the waitlist could be an asset because it allows me to save more money to possibly be able to not work for my first semester. I've got a lot to think about now, but I can't tell you how good it feels to have choices. Whew

Well CONGRATS to YOU! If you choose not to go to CCSF that opens up a spot! Where is NVC? After a long road im sure that feels good, I am in the same boat being so close to getting in it is bittersweet (more sweet) !
