I think i may be the only one still waiting to hear anything from the BRN. So just a clarification on the things that I am waiting for - I graduated in NY, so all my friends only know the NY process.

1. I am waiting for a "letter of eligibility" - Does that come via the post man or via email? What does that letter specifically say, have on it? Is it instructions for how to sign up for the NCLEX?

2. What is an ATT? I see the acronym everywhere, but not defined anywhere.

3. One of the girls in the kaplan class I took, said she got an email regarding scheduling her exam...is this something different than the letter of eligibility, or is that the same thing?

Thanks

2. After the board of nursing declares a candidate eligible, they will receive an Authorization to Test (ATT). If a candidate chooses to provide an e-mail address, all correspondence from Pearson VUE will arrive ONLY by e-mail. If a candidate does not provide an e-mail address all correspondence will arrive ONLY through U.S. mail. A candidate must have their ATT to schedule an appointment to take the NCLEX examination and they must present their ATT at the test center on the day of their examination to be admitted to the examination. Candidates will not be admitted to the examination without their ATT's and will be required to re-register and re-pay to take the examination.

Actually maybe you should look at the website and see if it answers your questions.

The CA Boards send the applicant the eligibility letter that they are eligible to test and how to contact Pearson Vue to register. After the applicant sends the 200 to Pearson Vue, Pearson Vue sends a confirmation and you should recieve your ATT a few days after the confirmation (if you put an email, 1-5 days, if you do not give Pearson Vue an email, regular mail 5-10 days). The ATT gives you the information on scheduling your test location/date. As the previous person indicated, you must take that ATT to the exam with you and your name should match with your picture ID (see info from Pearson on name change documents they will accept at the testing site) otherwise they will turn you away and you'll have to pay both the Board of Nursing and Pearson Vue again. If Jr or SR is on your picture ID, put it on your application to the Board and when registering with Pearson Vue.

Is it okay if u didn't register right away from PearsonVue after you received the Eligibility? coz i'm still saving money (200 is big money LOL). why is it my friend told me that she registered for pearson vue yet she waited for months for her ATT? thanks

I registered on pearsonvue before I got my ATT. I think I even paid the $200 before that. When i finally got my ATT I got freaked out that taking the NCLEX was that much closer so I procrastinated a bit before booking an appt. So you can register before getting ATT (just not book an appt).

how come I know people who had their ATT and sched for their exam, they were able to get a slot for 1 1/2month after they book.. im confused, others say that when they booked they were given like 2 weeks sched, others a month or 2.. hmm..

My school sent my paperwork to the boards 5 weeks ago. I graduated from California.

I haven't received my eligibility letter and I am worried. How long does it usually take to receive letter of eligibility for NCLEX-PN thanks!

An ATT gives you a 90 day window to schedule your exam. Testing availability can vary between testing centers. I graduated in Reno, NV, but there were no testing dates for 2 months, so I ended up going to San Francisco to test about a week after I got my ATT.

That's way too long. Im planning to take here in Vegas instead of Cali but if my case is the same with yours, I'll have no choice but to go there.
