U.S.A. California

Published

When I saw that Torrence Memorial had closed their applications to their New Grad program starting in March 2011 I realized we needed a new grad 2011 thread! The 2010 thread was a great place to ask questions and get answers about upcoming new grad opportunities. So let's make this thread the same. :)

First off, When did you graduate?

Hey there everyone, I just want to say that this thread has been so uplifting!!! I graduated Dec. 2010, licensed in March and applying since April.. I havent heard anything after 40 or so apps, so in the last couple weeks I have been soooo bummed.. lost steam. But this thread has been so helpful, and I feel motivated again! Thank you so much for all the info and it is great to see that you guys are so supportive of each other..

Also, CONGRATULATIONS on everyone who has gotten hired! It seems like the hard work will pay off :w00t:

I got my ADN from a school in LA County and was wondering if anyone else is from this area, or looking for work here..

Glendale Adventist MC said their New Grad program (which has been open since April) is ongoing and they got 1500+ apps for sometimes 2 positions a month!

A classmate got hired at Olympia in March but their program has since dissepated it seems. What other hospitals can I try with a new grad program that would take an ADN nurse? Any thoughts?

Thanks again

Thank you for all the info!!!!!! She didn't tell me all that tonight, she just said that we're starting on the 8th and that she will be in touch with me to schedule my physical after she run my background check........

What unit will you guys be working on? During the interview they told me that they had 300 applicants and only 15 spots so I wasn't really expecting an offer!!!!!

See you guys on the 8th :)

I applied & haven't heard a peep!

I had applied to the new grad program at UCSD earlier in summer and never got a call like many of us but noticed they weren't interviewing in the oncology department even though it was initial listed as a department with openings for new grad. I figured the 43 internals who applied for the 40 positions all got the jobs. Then I got a call last week for an interview Friday, and Monday a call offering me a job in oncology at Thornton. I guess you never know in this crazy job hunt. They said they considered the work I had been doing at a hospital since I graduated last year so anything you can do while you are waiting for that "perfect" job counts. Good Luck to everyone out there and thanks for the support on this site. Don't give up hope.....

That is so incredibly awesome!!!! So happy for you!!!! :yeah: I actually have a similar story regarding a job I had interviewed for and actually got a rejection email weeks ago after my interview. I was crushed! On Friday I got a call that someone had dropped out of the program and I was next in line for my dream job. Unbelievable, but these things do happen. Good luck to everyone! :heartbeat

I applied too and I havent heard anything either. My status is the same as it was when I first applied. I will call HR today.

A classmate of mine was offered one of the OR new grad positions at UCD, but I have yet to hear from them in regards to any of the positions I've applied to. :(

I haven't heard anything, nor has my status changed for the positions at Highland. I'd love to hear what you found out RNnicu42!
