I went to the Open House a couple of months back, it is on the DeVry campus. They have three start dates a year, which means it is a year round (meaning summers included) school. You can get your BS in three years if you have no previous college credits or like me I'm hoping to have it done in 18-24 months.

It is pricey, because it is a private institution (probably $18,000+ a year). I would suggest getting all of your non-nursing classes out of the way at a community college first because you would be paying premium dollar for those basics. It's also a new campus which I know that there are a lot of people that are wary about not knowing the schools pass/fail rate on the NCLEX.

I have chosen to apply here because I have all but like two classes left before I can start the nursing classes. I did this because I'd already waited a year in TX to get in to a program before we moved and didn't want to wait another year or more here to do the community college (plus I'd prefer my BS degree...all a matter of choice).

I have applied for the fall start date this year and am hoping to hear something soon, but they did say that in some cases you won't know until about five weeks before you start (probably because they are somewhat flexible on when you get all your materials in).

Hope this all helps in some way! Let me know if you plan on applying.

]Thank you so much for your reply! I'm basically in the same situation you are in (I moved here from CA).

] I'm shooting for a BSN as well because I already have an associates degree and there's no point in getting another one! I'll probably apply for the fall start date too.

]

] Well, let me know if you get accepted and I'll do the same!

I just signed on to Chamberlain for the Online BSN program. They are VERY HELPFUL and friendly. The time factor over rides the expense, for me.I can complete my BSN in 10 months! I start Sept.1 . Do look into them..they were the easiest and most friendly and thorough college I have dealt with as I did my research!

Hey! Got a call on Monday that I'd been accepted for the fall. I got my letter in the mail today. Let me know if you have applied and heard anything yet.

Hi!

So I've decided to wait another semester to apply. I still have a couple of classes that I need to take. Let me know how everything goes! Congratulations on getting in!

Hi, congratulations on your acceptance. I'm also interested in their program but is it true that the degree is not accepted in a few states ?

I haven't heard anything about that. I know that they are accredited so I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be accepted.

I actually still have to take a couple of classes myself. I'm taking their Micro/Chem combo class and college algebra. I would end up paying MUCH more by taking these classes through the community college because I'm still considered an "out of state" resident till February. That's the good thing about this being a private institution. I may not end up actually taking the nursing core classes till January...won't know till I meet with my advisor this week.

Hey Ready to Help,

did you take the Teas before being accepted in the program or after ? I am thinking about applying for the Spring Semester- March cohort but i heard that by then the Hesi A2 will be required instead of the Teas. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Also, will you be working while attending school ? It must be pretty exciting to begin your nursing journey soon:wink2:
