BIO 201 at Rio Salado

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hey everyone,

Looking to see if anyone is currently enrolled in BIO 201 at Rio Salado. I am scheduled to start on 4/13 but was hoping to get a jump start on my studying. I have a crazy schedule because I work two jobs (one to pay for school and one to pay for my life), a husband and three kids. I need all the extra study time I can get!

Any study tips and general suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!

Specializes in none.

redbkgiraffe, if you find a good instructor will you PM me too? I am finishing up CHM130 at RIO then am thinking of PC for BIO201 and 202.

Yep I will. I have a good instructor for 201. I thought the class required a lot of memorization but I worked 40 hour/week and was enrolled in 2 courses and got an A no problem.

Hi guys! Kindly also inform me of "good" and "kind" instructors of CHM130, BIO156, BIO201, and BIO202 classes. I will be taking these science pre-requisite courses at Rio Salado too!

Will it be possible if you could share any suggestions that we should know when studying and being prepared for their exams?

Thank you!

OP,

I took both Bio 201 & 202 online at Rio. You pretty well get out of online courses what you put into them. I tend to really dig and not slide by, so I get a lot out of my courses. I just took potluck with instructors and they were fine. The biggest piece of advice I can give regarding courses (whether on- or offline) is KNOW EVERYTHING and be able to relate everything. It does take extra effort to know the material to that degree, but it definitely pays off; particularly, when you start seeing NCLEX type test questions in nursing school. Also, Rio tends to be more work than some of the other MCCCD schools, BUT it is well worth it when you get into the nursing classes. You'll be very happy to know all those essays, for example, really DO make the nursing courses much easier. The upshot is: make sure you really put the time & effort into Bio 201 and 202 - it will pay off big time. In addition, if you find yourself on a waiting list with some extra time on your hands, it's well worth it to take Human Pathophysiology (HCR 240). It's a great course and it will really help as you get further into the nursing courses.

Best of Luck!!
