Keeping You In The Loop

It's true that everyone is moving to mobile these days. Our mobile traffic is growing! With that said, we have to make some changes.

Home Page Changes

Our Home Page will now display TRENDING topics. This includes all types of topics (ie, thread, articles, etc) where engagement is high. Topics listed on the page have been posted within the past 72 hours (in the Breakroom it's longer).

In addition to the above, you will now find more information about each topic such as the number of replies, username, and avatar.

Another addition is the forum where the topic is posted. This will make it easier for you to jump straight to that page.

The Trend link found in the Content Bar (dark brown bar above) will eventually be removed.

A new item on the home page...

Featured Contributors is our way to celebrate our active writers. Any writers who submit an approved article will be promoted on the main page. This is just a start. We are working on a new FEATURED CONTRIBUTORS section which will make all our active members stand out - get more readers - get more traffic. For entrepreneurs, influencers, and innovators this is a great way to create a following.

'All Nursing Articles' Page Changes

Our All Nursing Articles Page found when visiting the Home Page is now sorted by Last Reply. This was changed so that it behaves similarly to the forum Articles section. eg. All Nursing Articles vs General Nursing Articles For those that are not aware, the Articles link found on the Home page displays all articles regardless of the forum it was posted in.

The additional topic information (such as the number of replies, username, and avatar) are also now available here.

(NOTE: We do have plans to add sorting options. This will come later.)

Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE June 10th

Our #1 priority is our audience.

We migrated the entire site (and the Breakroom) to HTTPS (secured pages).

This is a huge undertaking for a large site such as allnurses.com. But, we decided it was in the best interest for our audience.

This means more Privacy and Security for people who visit allnurses.

Better Privacy - This will help prevent identity theft and account compromise. It will also help deter ISPs from tracking what pages are being read.

Better Security - This change will prevent malicious 3rd-parties from trying to insert code into our site, or track what are readers are doing. Man-in-the-middle attacks or spoofing are also prevented.

Coming up next month...

1 ) New Site Center will include ability to view past and present Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, and Terms of Service.

2 ) New Email settings with ability to stop/start delivery of all email anytime you wish.

More changes are coming!

Is there any way you can make it so we can jump to the last page of a thread? Going one page at a time is onerous when the thread has gotten long. I apologize if I'm just being stupid and this option is already in place. FTR-I'm using an iPhone

That is already available.

For example, in this thread, just click the arrow and it takes you to the last page:

attachment.php?attachmentid=26931&stc=1

That does not show up on my phone. I get a "next" box. But I'll try the other way. Thanks.

I am tooooo old, I hate changes....I won't be able to figure it out .

This isn't available either. I'm on the latest version of iOS. Sorry, not trying to be a pain but I gave up on AN on my phone because of this issue.

Since moving to mainly surfing AN on my iPhone, I just go to the "What's New" tab but sometimes I will surf specific tabs. I can say it is a PITA to post and reply on my phone but I don't know a way around this...

Anyone know why I don't have an emoji selection like I used to have when posting/replying? The options just disappeared one day. My phone emoji's just turn into an ambiguous diamond-ish shape with a dollar sign inside (I think). I think emoji's really help to lighten the post/response when readers are trying to figure out the poster's intentions/emotions. Make sense?
