New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

hi everyone. im back!

im for october 11 intake at VCHN... who among you has the same intake?

hello guys,

i've been following this thread for a long time. I already have my NBV eligibility letter. I had to retake the IELTS exam because mine expired last December 2009. But I've already retaken the IELTS and passed the required scores. Anyway, I called Deakin earlier and the lady I talked to said that there is only one intake for next year. Just the January intake and the tuition is $10,290 and the deadline for applications is on September 12 this year. Just want to ask if anyone received the letter of offer to Deakin this year but do not have any work experience? Thanks. I'm just a bit worried to submit my application because I do not have any employment certificate to show because I don't have any nursing experience from the Phils. The lady I talked to told me that they'd still accept my application although I don't have any employment certificate, but it's up to the faculty to assess my eligibility... Anyway, thanks to everyone who's been giving loads of valuable info to this thread... :)

actually cioman it's not in the list. i just read it somewhere here in the thread. I just want to be sure everything's done. Oooops. i'll stop looking for this vaccine then. Thanks a heap for answering my stupid question... :uhoh3:

Best of luck to you! :nurse:

yap, it was mentioned in one of the pages here.. i rechecked, NT and NSW do not require Polio vaccine.. but as mentioned by nasruasim, univ. of ballarath requires it, thus, it largely depends on the BP school..

could you pls pm me on where did you get your shots? how much all? im still going to have mine.. hope you could recommend.. thanks..

to everyone here in this thread, continue pursuing your Oz dream of becoming an RN.. never give up... happy to see there are still those familiar names providing info to fellow nurses.. Im one of those successful filipino nurses who aspired to be an RN1 in Australia and I made it! I worked as RN1 in ICU after the bridging course at ETEA..

hi dudzy, nice to hear from u agen..

im on job search mode now.. may i ask, since you were able to get ICU job, did you have an adequate ICU experience here in the philippines? how many years? hope you could give us some of your background/credential so that i would have an idea on whether i have a rubbish credential or good enough already.. thanks..

Newmac

any news at your end?

hi,

I have in my hand the vaccination requirement of University of Ballarath and it says "one documented dose of Polio vaccine including date of administration." I got the dose just yesterday. So there you are.......... you now know where it came from.

Hi drednag

Have you applied for your visa?

Thanks

So i had a response for you already Nurse Nathalie until I saw the post shynern07 that the CV should be signed by the applicant only :)

I edited it out so I won't add to the confusion.

Thanks for the help shynern07:yelclap:

Yeah! Thanks to Shynern07!

Another doubt is that we should have our CV translated and certified by an authority OR we can translate it ourselves?:uhoh3:

I dunno in Phils...do u guys have to translate ur docs in certified copies or ,u guys, have ur docs alreday in English?

Thanks for taking ur time to reply!!!:nurse:

i think CV should really be in English..is that what you meant NurseNathalie?
