already passed the CGFNS and IELTS- how to take NCLEX in Illinois

Good day! I am a nurse from the Philippines and now planning to take NCLEX and be a registered nurse in Illinois. You see, I already passed the CGFNS as well as the IELTS. I was wondering if I need to request CGFNS a Credential Evaluation Service since I already passed the exam. And, I also would like to know if I have to take also the TOEFL since as I mentioned earlier I already passed another english exam which is the IELTS.

as for my case, cts informed me when they rcvd my application and they also informed me of my outstanding docs through air mail. if they rcvd all your docs then they will send you a letter stating that they have approved your application for licensure examination and you can register with pearson. i guess this is the eligibility letter.

if all your required docs are sent in a timely fashion, sending of eligibility letter wont take too long....

i also have a question. since i rcvd my eligibility letter from cts, does it expires within a specific time? though the letter doesnt said so. i emailed cts/dpr, and they told me to register immediately to pearson. should i do that even im not even half of my review? my worry also goes with the 90days validity of the att. i knew that i cant schedule for the exam until june.

can't schedule for the exam due to space availablility in hk? slots always open, and the longer that you wait, the more slots will fill.

the att time does not begin until it is issued. but each state has a requirement as to how long that the eligibility is valid.

the longer that you wait to register with pearson-vue, the later that the slots will be available for you.

hello, im here for another question.

In the part I of the 4 page application, what will I write in the no. 3 item, Licensure method and fee? Is it the examination CTS- 79$ or examination CSBN $200? I am really confuse. Thanks for the help.

Im just wondering..., why do you need to submit the ORIGINAL CGFNS CEFTIFICATE?... cant you just not give the photocopy of it instead, its scary iy might lost somehow....do they really require the original one ?

I don't think you should submit it at all. CGFNS should be the one sending it to CTS. Send a request to CGFNS. I guessing there might be a fee to that, but I think that's the way it's done.

Better check with CTS first before you send your CG certificate yourself.

okay... hello... ive been a user here for a long time already but i think this is my first or second post... it's been a long time already... hehehe anyway, i have a lot of questions, so i really need some help...

I'm from the Philippines and I just passed the board exam last december, now my cousin wants me to apply for NCLEX examination in Illinois... so, my problem is, I'm really confused with the application... I've read all of the stuff here but it left me more confused...

and another info is, I haven't taken the CGFNS exam, coz my cousin told me not to...

so here are my questions...

1. CES

> how can I apply for CES? do i have to email them? are they going to email me? can anyone tell me the whole process? coz, technically, I'm just a kid here... I really don't know what to do... :(

> and if I pass the application form first, is that okay? could the CES be sent later?

2. Application Form

> In the part 1 of the application form, #3, what should I write there? someone answered above that it should be CTS - $79 dollars... but does that also apply to me? Coz I still dont have any CTS... I wrote "examination (NCSBN) - $200" there... is that wrong?

> in part IV, should i just leave all of that blank? coz i really don't know what I should write there... I mean, should I write that i took my licensure exam here in the Philippines? and i still dont have my license number coz PRC here in the Philippines would only give it to us around june...

* coz i live in Bacolod, that's too far away from the US embassy, so I would probably need the Fingerprint card from the US... is that correct? which agency could I contact? how long will that take? and is it okay if the fingerprint got delayed?

* I haven't worked in any hospitals yet, so do i still need to fill this up and send it?

PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME.. I'm really clueless about this things... and I'm the only one from my friends who is going to take the exams in Illinois... please please please....

and last, is it better if i just apply online? coz this written application is really making me confused...

Illinois will not even look at your application until you have the CES submitted to them, I would focus on that first.

ouch... okay, i have another problem... coz, i still don't have my license... Coz, i just passed the Local Board Exam last December here in the Philippines, and they said that I could only get my license around may or june...

So, I was trying to answer all of the required filleds in the CES application (I'm at the CGFNS website right now) and it's requiring for the license number... do I need to wait for my license? or is there a way for me to request for the CES without the license...

I guess it's better to have CGFNS send it.. of course it comes with a fee..
