  1. I can say that Fatima valenzuela really guard their students, I graduated there so I clearly knew the rules... first..after the course, we are not allowed to review to other review school like others, since fatima offers a review class to those about to take the board...ofcourse with pay..nothing is free from fatima...then after a couple of months reviewing, we will take the mc board exam, meaning,a board like exam made by fatima.. but a lot harder I think, should we passed the mc board..then we can take the board exam....should we fail...then, we need to undergo another months of review.some students even try to sue the school for doing this...we cant take the board if we fail the mc board because our papers are with them..and they are the one applying for the prc..so there is really no way to escape the rules...but in the end..its all worth it...we really passed the exam in good ratings...and without leakage! honest!!! so if you'll ask me if its worth to transfer..in my opinion, if your not really short on money...then its worth it.. about the floods...yes, it floods everywhere here in RP when it rains right? and besides....theres a lot of airconditioned canteen to hang around while waiting for the flood to subside...you live far... theres alot of dorm ...just a few distance from the school...just one advise...get ready with your money. :monkeydance: :monkeydance:
  2. hi, i tried to visit the cgfns site and looked for the cost if they will be the one to send a copy of my cgfns certificate....but i cant find it, i actually saw the replacement certificate fee which is 100$. anybody knows how much and how to ask the cgfns to send a copy of my certificate to cts? i really dont want to send my original certificate but i think....it is the cheapest way, ces is very much expensive....sending my original copy of cgfns together with my application is cheaper....just hope and pray that they will send it back and not lost in the process... should it be lost....then..i guess, i will ask the cgfns to send me a duplicate copy and pay 100$. just an idea...what do you think?:monkeydance: bonbon2005
  3. dearest Rep, I just want to ask you about this thing I read from one of the post, and the post came from suzzane....therefore....this is true and im scared... according to her, ( I will just copy what she said coz I printed it out ) " there are somethings that you need to be aware of,you must make sure that you have about five months of funds available to you to live on while waiting. It is the 90 days before a petition can be submitted, plus about another 60 days before you will receive the EAD ( EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION DOCUMENT), which permits you to work,. then you need to allow about one week for your SSN# to arrive after you apply for it. ( this is the most scary part ) It is illegal to accept any type of work during this time., and if you are cought, you face deportationand not being permitted to return to the US for a period of at least 10 years. I want to ask you, and maybe our all kababayan in the US....how did you survive? did you really did not work for that 5 months? under the table is definitely NO nO as I understand IT . how is that? what did you all do? Hope to hear something God Bless you all

  12. dearest REp, and also to all dear filipino nurses in the U.S. Iv been a member of All Nurses since 2005, but I dont send post or give comment about any thread or issues, I just read and browse all the conversation , I do have some questions and most of it were answered by just reading the posts... but something came up lately and I cant find the right answer no matter how long i read the post...maybe some of you could help me and give some advise as well. To begin with, I am one of those DOCTOR- NURSE here in the philippines, Im currently working in a government hospital as a doctor (GP), I took my nursing career last 2003, took and passed my CGFNS last 2004 and also the IELTS, I have an agency who helped me with the papers and all. My husband is also a doctor and practicing as a safety practitioner.we have a daughter who's only 10 month old.as for our papers, were in pocket 3, my husband already paid the visa fee for the 3 of us, my daughter was not included in the petition, and according to our attorney ( by agency ) we need to submit the photocopy of her birth cert and passport together with the bankdraft of her visa fee so that she can be petition too. were so worried that she may not be able to come with us. well that is my number 1 concern..... another thing, last week, my husband happened to meet an american citizen from new york, and the man totally discouraged my husband regarding our plans of living/ working at U.S. according ti him with the salary that is beeing offered by our agency, we cannot survive in chicago ( the agency is offering $17/ hr but after I passed the NCLEX which I will take as soon as I got there in chicago, the salary will be about 22-23 $ / hr. ) the man even gave my husband a written breakdown of our expenses and earnings and it staTED THAT WE WILL HAVE A negative financial status in chicago,....plus the weather, and the fact that I will be the one working since my husband will be the one to ltake care of our daughter. before,my husband and I definitely knew that our life there would be different and we're ready to face and embrace it , we have a dream that someday, when we have much money, we can go back and build our dream house and buy our dream car ( were bought in age 35 )but now after what the man said, my husband is having a 2nd thought of leaving.....he even think that we better backout and forget our application as well as the time and money that we spent.According to my husband, if we will have a very hard time in chicago, then its not worth it....I feel so sad. At present, we're earning about 65-70thousand pesos/ month ( its my salary plus his salary, dollar rate at present is 48$) we're renting an apartment at present.plus our expenses.the salary that we're earning is enaugh for a living with some leisure but quite impossible to build a house or buy a nice car thats why we made a decision before to give up our career and go to chicago. our papers is not affected by retrogression and according to our agency, if no problems, we can go to chicago this coming march to june. But right now, I dont know if we can still push with it. I just want to ask you REP and to my fellow filipino to give me an advise regarding your life in the U.S. Is it worth it? I mean giving up everything here and go there? can we really save for a better future or we'll just have a very hard time....the american man said that a lot of filipino are hypocrite to admit that they want to go back and just pretend that living in the U.S is the best. I m having second thought of asking my friends the same questions...I chose to send this post to you guys coz i think that you can give me the truest answers. please reply god bless, bonbon2005

Dear Krissy, I suggest that you go for it, its not too late!!! Im sure your very much aware that even doctors in our country are taking up nursing course...its one way to have security in the future. 14. I agree with suzzane that you need to apply for visa scrren even your still not taking the exam or in the process of taking the exam, as per experience, I did not apply for my visa screen, now that I passed the CGFNS and IELTS, I am waiting for the visa screen evaluation, and another waiting again.so I suggest, better apply now, to save time.
