Hi everyone!

Interested to know who else will be applying for the 2nd entry program at York U for Fall 2014!

Congratz KL0914,

Do you mind sharing you CGPA and last 30 credits GPA, so others can figure out where they are

Thanks

Thank you & yeah, no problem! My situation is a little different though, now that I think about it, my offer sounds more like a conditional one, but hopefully it still helps. I just finished my exams for my Kinesiology degree at York, so I will be graduating this spring, granted I pass all my exams. For courses I have completed thus far, my cGPA is 6.24 but again, I still have a few courses that haven't posted my final marks. For my last 30 credits, not all courses can be accounted for but I'm guessing it will be anywhere between 6.0-7.0. Once everything gets updated, I am more than willing to give you my final cGPA and GPA in my last 30 credits.

Hi [COLOR=#003366]NikolaStankovic,

Thanks for being willing to offer advice and insight!

Is it possible for you to tell us what to expect for a schedule? I have several friends in the 4 year program but they have told me that the 2nd entry students' schedules are different so they weren't sure what to expect. Before I start to sound lazy, I want to clarify that it's because I have 2 very young children so the more I can start anticipating now in terms of childcare the better! Also, I can condense my schedule and reduce the number of days I need childcare for, MUCH better!

First, are all second entry students on the same schedule or are there different sections at different times to choose from, and how long before the semester starts are we able to make our choices or see our schedules?

Can you give us an idea of what the schedule is like? I know the courses which are in each semester, how are they set up? Is one a 3-hour lecture once a week, one class 3-1 hour lectures? Do you remember your schedule from first year?

Thank you very much!!!

Hey ld1101,

From what I know, schedules vary from year to year. This is mainly due to our placements. The clinical placements are the ones that dictate on which days we will have our clinical days, and depending on that, York works out our schedule for the rest of the courses.

With that said, I can't guarantee you which days you will have clinical/lectures, but I can tell you that you only have clinical/lectures 4 days a week. You get 1 day off in the week.

To give you an insight on how my schedule went for the first semester:

Monday - 11:30-14:30 (NURS1900); 14:30-17:30(NURS1950)

Tuesday - clinical from 07:00-15:00

Wednesday - 08:30-10:30 (NURS1543); 15:30-17:30 (NURS1530-lab)

Thursday - off

Friday - 08:30-11:30 (BIOCHEM); 11:30-14:30 (NURS1511)

Everybody's schedule was the same other than having the option to choose your 1950 lecture, which was either the 08:30-11:30 slot or 14:30-17:30 slot, and the 1543 lab, which had 3 options, 11:30-13:30, 13:30-15:30, 15:30-17:30.

What I forgot to mention and probably the most important thing that will help you out is that York will give you a certain date that you can choose your courses, and I might be wrong, but that is most likely right after your YorkU appointment, which you should look to book right upon acceptance. Once you finish with that appointment, they will give you the access to plot your timetable.

Thank you very much!

Thanks for the awesome break down!!

I just got accepted today! I am kind of in shock, as I didn't know if I would get in or not. For those who might be interested, my gpa for my last 30 credits was a 8.7 on a 12.0 scale (which is about a mid-B to B+).

@ambrr Congratulations! Do you mind telling us your cumulative GPA? I believe thats how York ranks us. Thanks!

Thank you! My cumulative GPA is a mid-B, so hopefully that gives some people some hope (I really did not think I would get in as I saw so many people with higher GPA's).

I got my acceptance to York today as well. However, the conditions of the offer was not listed, and I wasn't notified by email. It just updated on myfile.

Did anyone else get an email?

I just got an email yesterday saying that I was being offered admission, and it was also updated on myfile. Today my OUAC was updated saying that I was offered admission and included the deadline date to accept. I haven't received the official acceptance in the mail yet, so don't have any other information other than the deadline.

And what is the deadline to accept the offer?
