YIPPPPEEEE!!! I got "the call"!

Nursing Students General Students

I just got a phone call from one of the nursing programs I applied to, inteviewed with, and got a denial letter from.

They have expanded their nursing spots from 16 to 32 students, and I am accepted! The program director just called me to let me know I have a spot for the fall. I'm am just beside myself!

The only difference is, instead of the day program, lectures will be Wednesday morning with the whole group of us (32), but clinicals for the "new" set of students will be Thursday and Friday from 3-8 pm, with possibly some Saturday clinicals. I don't even care, I'm so excited!

The only monkey-wrench may be the other college I applied to. I'm still waiting to hear from them for their day program. She was pretty confident that I would have a spot since my application was in so early, and I had my interview, and all was accepted by their admissions committee. This school is private and MUCH more expensive, so that is one downfall, but it is day, which I really wanted.

In any event, I WILL be a nursing student come this fall! :)

:balloons: Congrats on the acceptance! :balloons: :biggringi

Thank you so much everyone!

I can't even tell you how helpful everyone on these boards has been. I don't think I would have made it through the interview process without the good advice of everyone, from dealing with my diabetes in the interview, to how to respond to the "Why do you want to be a nurse?" questions. I post on one other board with a group of women (just a moms board, not specfic nursing) and although they are supportive, it's nothing compared to the advice from real nurses and students. Most of the women I know had NO CLUE people had to apply to nursing school, nevermind how difficult it is to get in! They thought you just join a program! :chuckle

Anyway, thank you again, and you know I'll be here every step of the way through nursing school, looking for advice and help. You're all so helpful and supportive. :)

Congratulations Whitney!!!!!
