Hello All and thank you in advance for any advice that is given.
I have a prior bachelors degree, and have been a bartender for 13 years. I received my NYS license (BSN) in August. I started looking for an RN job in October and still have no luck. Ive heard of two grades of hospitals. Im wondering if there are smaller lesser known hospitals that I haven't applied to. I may have better luck finding a job in a small facility. Or does anyone know of Plastic surgeons or surgery centers that tend to hire new grads???
I heard the RN job search would be difficult, but I would think there might be areas I haven't tapped into. I am drowning in student loan debt
Im trying to stay positive!

hey have you found any luck yet?
HOH11225, thanks for asking
I recently got a job with a temp nursing agency that does home care. They've been sending me to Staten Island , I live in queens. I got to take what I can get.
Would love to get experience in a surgery center or with a plastic surgeon as I'm trying to accumulate experience so that I may get a hospital job.
Thats the idea...good luck

Have you thought about subacute LTC
JWEMT , right now I'm working with a temp agency sort of thing that does home care. Doesn't feel safe tho, the office sending me out to cases has no idea about nursing, starts complaining to me about how long infusions take, when I'm making sure it's the safe rate and dose, etc.
I would do sub acute LTC, I just don't know if any that doesn't require experience?. I look on indeed and other sites, everything I see wants experience.
pmed you with place
Hey @Jwemt can you send me the link as well since I am interested.
RNgal just grab whatever you can right now...
Thanks! ðŸ‘
Hello all!
Well, I'm fortunate to be able to give an hospital employment update, I was hired for the NYP OR! Finally!
Thank you for the job seeking advice.
I'm glad I was patient. I did like a month of home care before I got the call for NYP.

Congratulations RNgalUSA! May I know how did you apply to NYP? Did you just apply online? or did you went to their job fair? Any insights would be appreciated.
Thank you.
