Yay!! I get the poop magnet award!! Who else is so fortunate?!

Yay!! So today after I sent my umpteenth patient out to the hospital via EMS I was told I am the surgery center's poop magnet. Apparently I have managed to send out more patients to the hospital in the last 2 months than the center has in years!! Yay me!! Today's gem had new onset A Flutter, hypotension, and lethargy before we even started anything.... :/ To the ER you go, do not pass go!! Who else has been so fortunate to get this award?!? I know y'all are out there :)

Yikes! I found out today little darling won herself a ticket to the ICU. A Flutter is just the beginning of her issues. My suspicions of sepsis were also confirmed a long with several other underlying issues that surfaced. How she managed to get from her care center to HD and then to us with no one else realizing she was in bad shape baffles me! I took one look at her and the "oh crap that doesn't look good!!" Bells went off. Prayers for her, but after reading a report sent to us it looks like hospice would be the most appropriate care for her.

And yes I have a talent for being the other type of poop magnet too!! Thankfully in this setting that happens far less than the ICU. One nurse I work with began to joke that she was in for it when she saw me after report because when ever we worked together we spent the entire day alternating between our patients cleaning BM after BM. Thank you immensely to whoever developed BMS systems!!

I'm a feces magnet....so much that when my Dad was in the hospital my sisters jokingly said they wouldn't eat with me....for 3 days in a row...a guy near us choked, we when to a local restaurant and a guy coded and the third person had a seizure right next to my chair when he dropped. I went outside for fresh air....as I was walking in the "garden" area the security guard made this guy with a fancy sports car move...as he peeled out of the circular drive I though that guy's gonna kill someone...as he flipped his car over when he hit the curb. This was all in 2 weeks.

I'm a feces magnet. :whistling:

I get the poop the poop magnet award when I work rehab or our in-facility SNF for sending patients back to acute. When the manager sees me on his unit, he always asks which one of my patients will I send back today?

I was the "Afib fairy" when I worked in CVICU. I watched allll the numbers like a hawk, checked lytes as soon as I started seeing any increase in ectopy... but I had pts go into rapid a fib all. the. time. And of course their BP never tolerated it enough to just watch it either; we'd have to start drips and/or cardiovert.

I am the septic shock and full code nursing home patient queen! Any nursing home patient anywhere near me knew when I was working and came in as an absolute train wreck! Probably why I spotted her sepsis on top of her arrhythmia when she came through the door.
