Hey everyone! Now that applications have been out for a while, has anyone started the process of applying for the Yale GEPN program? I hope that your applications are going well if you have! Also, if there are any current GEPN students that happen across this thread, if you have time, feel free to share your experiences in the program and any tips you may have :) Thanks!
Does anyone know how we are supposed to fill out the portion of the FAFSA asking what will your college grade level be when you begin the 2018-2019 school year and what degree or certificate will you be working on when you begin the 2018-2019 school year? I am a bit confused as to how to answer these questions because I am unsure if the first year is considered to be a part of the MSN portion of the program considering it is the prespecialty year.

I believe this was alluded in previous posts and in previous cohorts but I believe the GEPN program is purely a graduate program. Unlike other programs that have both an ABSN and MSN component, you do not graduate Yale with a BSN. You will receive a MSN once you complete all three years of the program. You will receive a certificate from Yale saying that you are now eligible to take the NCLEX in the state of CT once you pass your pre-specialty year. After you sit your NCLEX and pass, your post-nominal will read Tangodeux, RN after your first year.
If a current Yale GEPN or another applicant could help to clarify or correct me if I am wrong, please let us know. Thank you!
