Haven't seen a thread on this yet.. Anybody else applying?
For anyone who is currently in the program or was in the program in the past I was wondering if it was possible to set up our own clinicals?
No, you have an instructor from the school on-site for every clinical. The one exception is preceptorship at the end of the program where you can sort of pick your own unit if you know someone willing to precept you.
Scholarships: We were the last group to get the big scholarship, and as far as I know few people got anything outside of that. A few of us got "underprivileged" scholarships of $6000 because our Fafsas reflected that we were really poor, haha.
Buy whatever drug book. I like Davis Drug Guide. Totally white sneakers/clogs. The midrange stethoscopes are definitely easier to hear from and most of us have Littmann or MDF, but get whatever as long as it has a bell and diaphragm.
A lot of us will be willing to sell/give your our scrubs, uniforms, books, etc. The group before us made a Google doc and shared it with us in January, so probably y'all should expect something like that. The older editions of all of the textbooks (except Adult) are totally useable and probably preferable for every class.
I called the office of admissions last week and was told a decision had been made and I would receive a letter in a few days. I received my acceptance letter from the university on maybe Thursday of last week. They should be able to tell you the status over the phone and if you need anything else in order for the decision to be sent out.
@scjackson I completed my screen in Charlotte-go to the public data work page, click drug testing and at the button of the pg there is a hyperlink to look up collection site locations. After you find which site you want to use, you will have to call FirstPoint to register your acct. This will provide you with a collection form to bring to the collection site.
No, the acceptance letter just tells you to go to the wssu website under admitted students to finish the process. The link is Admissions - Admitted Students - Secure Your Enrollment I just can't seem to get logged on to the campus email but it may be because I just received the email address after confirming my admission online. It may be too soon.

According to our acceptance packet, the code that was listed on the sheet was WSN1 for the background check.
