So, this next week I have three interviews scheduled and possibly more, if I can get in touch with someone in person. However, at one of them, I have a family member who lives there. The place of employment has many buildings where residents live, so there's a good chance I could be assigned to one of them that my family member does not live in.
My question is, would you consider working where a family member lives? I've decided that I'll only consider a job offer from this place if I won't be responsible for my relative's nursing care at all.

I would do it but that's just me.

I would interview and I would disclose that a relative lives in the building and ask not to be assigned to that building as a condition of employment. It's possible the facility may have a policy in place for situations like this. I agree with you that I would not want to be responsible for my relative's care.

My sister was a resident in the nursing home I worked in. Fortunately, my workplace had a policy about family members taking care of their own relatives, and I was never assigned to her unit.

I have had this happen. In smaller towns, its almost impossible not too. I have taken care on an Aunt, and had co-workers taking care of grandparents, ect. It has never been an issue.
