All I can speak for is Phoenix. The job market is bad even for experienced
nurses. There are jobs posted, but there are MANY applicants for each job.
The market is almost non-existent for new grads.

The job market in Tucson is a LITTLE more open, depending on what exactly you want to do, and ditto about the new grad jobs. It may be different in more rural areas of the state though.

Northern AZ is bad for new grads, too. In the Prescott area, there is only one acute care hospital (they opened a second branch in Prescott Valley, but census is very low there) and they suspended their new grad program. You could try the VA or Mountain Valley Regional Rehab hospital - not sure but they might hire new grads.

Here is a article about new grads struggling to find employment: http://www.azbn.gov/Documents/News/2010/Employment%20Newly%20Licensed%20RN.pdf
Interesting article, thanks! I wonder if the BON is going to try to get anything implimented. It'd be nice to know I COULD get a job when I graduate in two years. (I am SERIOUSLY concerned about that. However, I am realistic and know I could be moving in order to work. BOO!)

I have sent out at least 70 applications and resumes, mostly in the Tucson area, only to find nothing. I would suggest trying elsewhere.

Jumpy you need to multiply those applications by a factor of 3 and you will be fine. You should be sending out hundreds lol.
Check Plaza Healthcare, Mesa Good Shepherd, East Mesa Healthcare, Select, Trilium etc...
All these places are known to hire new grads.
