Words of inspiration..add some!

:)Im knee deep with Anatomy right now.Im feeling pretty low.:uhoh21: I know I want this,so I thought we could have a thread that would help the pre nurses get through rough times. This quote helped me get an A in Algebra last semester:

"When we consistently give control of our lives to other people and to circumstances, we run the risk of learning to give up,even with abundant opportunity around us."

Anybody have any quotes or small stories that helps them stay focused?

Amber:)

Honestly the one I repeat to myself again and again and again is just " One Day At A Time".

If I can make it through today- I can make it through tomorrow- as I made it through yesterday.

Some days are worse than others....but one...day...at...a...time

I guess another one I mutter to myself is " Schools a B**** and then you graduate***

:)

I also use the "one day at a time" mantra....or, similarly, the one about the elephant ("How do you eat an elephant? ONE BITE at a time!").

Here's another inspiring quote:

"Impossible is not a fact. It is an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration it is a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING..."

First thing....The quote on my signature!

If what you're working for really matters

you'll give it all you've got.

Secondly, my family....soon I want to print out a black and white photo of myself in a white nurse's uniform and morph myself in this pic. That may sound silly to y'all, but I can't wait.

Thirdly, I have to do this to prove to myself that I am smart enough; I am someone, and I can make something of myself. (Yes a full-time mother is something major, but y'all know what I mean.) I want to know that I can support my children if anything ever happens to my husband. I want to start what I finished back in 1991. I want to fulfill my dream.

aaah! No that's not silly at all! That would inspire me & good luck to you. Please post your pic when you have fufilled your dream. the quote I think of is by Ghandi (sp)....."Be the change you want to see in the world"

When I felt overwhelmed at what was ahead of me in nursing school, I used to remember this quote (I don't know who its by):

"INCH BY INCH, LIFE'S A CINCH; YARD BY YARD, LIFE IS HARD."

It would remind me to look at what I had to deal with TODAY, such as doing one paper, studying two chapters, etc instead of letting myself stress out over the next three years of work/school.

Another....childish, but still a good one for all ages, "I THINK I CAN, I KNOW I CAN, I KNEW I COULD!" (The Little Engine That Could.)

"Where there's a will, there's a way"

"Nothing will happen in your life if you don't try."

"No pain, no gain."

Here's my inspirational quote:

"Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together."

Never give up!

One of my favorites that keeps me going: Things that are worthwhile do not come easy, that is why they are worth it. (Of course, that is a paraphrase as I don't remember the exact saying, but you get the point. :))
