Hi there! I am in Ontario and what I am hearing is that we have lots of flu vaccine and I have read there are no restrictions up here. I don't know for sure how true it is , that's just what I am reading in my local paper. We have free clinics in my town and anyone can go in. Hope this helps.

Not so funny - it's already happening! I live in Ontario and U.S. residents in the nearby border towns are trying to make appointments to have their flu shots in Ontario clinics - willing to pay almost anything for them. There is now the fear that Ontario may run out of flu vaccine if the Ontario clinics do this on a large scale. Ontario clinics are now being encouraged to refuse all but Ontario residents.

Canada has a surplus of the vaccine, just like every year. This year, however, instead of dumping the excess, the U.S. will likely be buying it. I hear it's around 2.5 million doses. If you're wondering why Canada isn't affected by the shortage, it's because Canada makes their own.
Announced in my local paper and radio media today by the public health authority - anyone wanting the flu vaccine in Ontario must present valid ID to receive it. Only Ontario residents will receive the flu vaccine in Ontario. There is already a rush for the vaccination - even more so in Ontario than last year (which was a far above average year as it was). My husband and I will be attending the flu clinic at my kids' school with them. The news is also stating that Canada has a surplus so, I'm sure that shipments will start moving south soon.

Perhaps the Canadian government should insist that for the US to get their left over vaccine, the US also has to take an equal number of cows.
I know the ranchers in Alberta waould love that.

There is a ferry running a package to Victoria. Includes your return trip and a flu shot!
Sorry to say this, but the American seniors panicking over their flu shots is mystifing. Is it herd mentality or what?
First they wouldn't eat our meat because they might get mad cow, our military isn't supportive enough, but wait a minute, we'll trust your flu vaccine????
