Hey Congrats-
I am not accepted into the October class, however, I am interviewing on Sept 8th for the January class. Any advice? Do they ask clinical questions or is more relaxed?
My husband I are going to look at rental places while we are down there (I think we are going to end up getting a roomate because it will help cut down on cost and we currently have a house we own, with alot of stuff in it!!)
Haven't figured out how we will pay for things yet. I guess just loans, loans, loans.... Apparently I qualify for low interest loans. I was waiting to see if I get accepted to really start hammering the details out.

I was accepted for the October class but deferred because I had a house to sale...so I will not be attending until January '09. I plan to pay for school out of pocket (i've been working two full time jobs for a year and have saved enough to cover the tuition and fees for the 28 months). I will be looking for a roommate who will be willing two live with two miniature schnauzers. I am excited about starting school in the Spring. Good luck to everyone and if anyone wants to split rent...hit me up!

I am starting this fall. The interview is relaxed and they are very nice. No clinical questions. Just questions on why you picked the school, why you want to be a CRNA, have you shadowed someone and how much, and maybe your strengths and weaknesses.
I own a house as well back in Mobile. I am renting it out through a management company while I live here and taking out a slew of student loans for the rest, which I plan on hammering down when I get out. The 2br/2ba apartment I live in now is about $750 and is real nice. There are only a few non-income restricted apartment complexes down here tho, so that may be a hassle. If your spouse has a job, you prob make too much, and if you have no job, you prob make too little. Other than that there are a few good non-restricted ones, like River Reach and Bermuda Island. Hope this helps!

Hey Redrovercc
I have an interview as well on the 15th of Sept. I am looking forward to it. I will be looking for roomates as well once I find out if I get accepted. I heard nothing but great things about the school except for a couple neg people on here. Let us know how the interview went for you. Good luck!!!

hey sicu 3
I moved down here at the end of July. I am very excited too. We actually were from the gulf coast before Mobile. I went to William Carey College for nursing down in Gulfport and worked at South Alabama in their STICU. Cool to have someone from my area going down here.
OK... I went to William Carey in Hattiesburg:D. I will be moving down in about two weeks, and I am rooming with four other people that will be in our class also. So have you been doing anything to prepare, or are you just relaxing for the time being?
Hey good luck ladies and gents...I am just finishing my third semester and will be going full time come september 15. my clinical site will be in Tampa not Naples soooo if you guys ever have any questions about the Tampa clinical sites or if you're trying to make a decision on where to do your clinical hit me up. TRUST me you guys will enjoy your education at Wolford...in my opinion this school is going to be the absolute best school in the state in a couple years once people really start recognizing the things we're doing down here. The school will be getting a simulator lab with like 3 OR(s) in a couple years. The school's new building is crazy nice with cameras everywhere (including 4 in the classrooms....so nooooo cheating). The school is accredited for the next 10 years so no trouble there and last but not least the school has applied and is working on the SACS accreditation to start a DNAP portion next year (Fall)
Wow, another WC grad. I actually graduated with the Hattiesburg campus after Katrina. Four roommates? That's some cheap smart living. I have my wife and son with me, so rooming not quite a realistic option. I actually have been reading Anesthesia Secrets recently and relaxing mostly. That's an awesome book so far. Also, I ordered Miller's Anesthesia, which I have been told is the ultimate anesthesia resource. Time's goin pretty slow though! Still got one month to go, although I am sure I will be longing for some down time soon enough!
Thanks for the info Hojimma. That's awesome. The DNAP program sounds great too. Hopefully that will stay on track so I could possibly do that as well.

I'll be starting this fall. So, the time is closing in on me. I went the loan route and have everything set and ready to go. I'll move into my apartment at the first of the month, got a 1br about 5-10min from the school. My family is staying here on the east coast, so I'll be driving back and forth once a week. Also, bought a new laptop and plenty of new medical/anesthesia software for my iphone. So, all that being said I'm ready to get started.
