If you withdraw from both classes, you can give a plausible reason, such as serious illness. If you only withdraw from one course, it will look like you could not handle the load or were not happy that you weren't pulling an easy A, and it will not look good. Either way, it just depends on the overall picture as to how any of this will affect you. Different schools employ different policies about how they deal with a W on one's transcripts. That is the risk you take by taking this route. Always best to withdraw before the deadline to miss having the W placed on the transcript.
You need to contact an advisor on this one. The program I'm trying to get into is okay with a W however it does count as one attempt and you only have 2 attempts for the sciences. So if you had a W this semester then for some reason didn't do so well the next time taking that class that is the grade you are stuck with. Some colleges only allow one try just depends. Good luck to you.

Hi All,
I'm a 39 year old changing careers to nursing and seeking an accelerated program. I'm located in NYC, working full time and currently working through my pre reqs. I already have a BA from 15 years ago in an unrelated field.
I received As in Chemistry and Statistics last semester while working full time. Against the advice of advisement, I'm taking A&P1 and Micro this semester while working full time. Did well on 1st test but now realizing how time consuming the workload will be with all the reading/prep/labs/memorization etc. I'm really focused on getting top grades so thinking of withdrawing from Micro. Micro seems to really build on the A&Ps and I've heard A&P alone just consumes a lot of time while working.
Will that withdrawal of Micro hurt me on my application you think?
I'm also going to an info session for a school's accelerated program this week. I took General Psych and Developmental Psych 15 years ago in college and did well. Do you think these will be accepted by schools with some negotiation? Just seems with life experiences and working in many jobs it would be a waste to have to take these exact same classes again.
Just wondering if people have similar experiences. Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.
