Where should new grad go for work?

I will graduate in May with my BSN. I am willing to relocate and wonder if anyone knows of any cities or hospitals that are hiring new graduates anywhere in Wisconsin. I know most areas have a hiring freeze or are only taking experienced nurses, so I will go where the work is.

I think the Madison market is *starting* to thaw a bit...there were times during the past 6 mo that my hospital had zero RN openings, and when the occasional RN opening did occur, current employees were the only ones able to even be considered. Now there are openings in several units, and I know outside applicants are being considered. I see online now that there are more openings at all three hospitals in Madison, although I am not sure how UW is dealing with external applicants. Have you considered the VA in Madison or Milwaukee? Where can I find a new grad position in Wisconsin? I applied to dean healthcare but there are not many RN positions there. Where else can I look?

Hang tough. I start my new job next week as a new grad in Madison. I also got asked to interview at an outlying hospital (about 40 minutes from madison) for a hospital positon. I have 4 classmates that live in madison and 3 of us have found jobs in madison and the other one has a good job lead that looks like it is going to work out (she wanted to take the summer off) So keep applying. I wasn't getting interviews and my friend was so i asked if i could look at her cover letter. She was sending letters that really sold herself , where my letter was more generic. i really started spending time on my cover letters and personlizing why they should hire me for that specific position and that is when i started getting calls. Do you have any tips for starting my job search in the Madison area? I'm graduating from the UWO accelerated program in October and I don't know where to start....I've been looking at job listings online for a long time for UW, Meriter and St. Mary's and I see no listings for new grads...what to do?
