  1. Hi! I just registered for the Fitzgerald live FNP course, held next month but was told I was on the wait list. Has anybody experienced being on the wait list? Just wondering what my chances were in attending this course. Thanks!
  2. Hello all, I currently work on a Med-Surg unit and just had my interview in hopes of transferring back to Maternity. I previously worked in Postpartum/Antepartum/Gyne at a different hospital. At my hospital, all nurses work on Postpartum, with a specialty in either L&D or SCN. During the interview, I was told that there will be positions available in both. I am on the fence as to which one I would pursue if I obtained this job. Just wondering what were people's thoughts out there...Labor and Delivery or Special Care Nursery? Pros...Cons? Thanks!
  3. Tri-rn...do you currently work at Wheaton?
  4. Thank you everyone for your help. I really really appreciate it. And to Casi, I hope you have a great turn out with your teaching project.
  5. Thanks for the great ideas. :) I'll be sure to let my group know. Any more ideas are still welcome. Thanks again.
  6. Hello all, I am currently taking Peds, and we have a teaching project coming up. The project has to be focused on a specific age group (teaching has to be appropriate to their developmental level). I was just wondering what topics (with appropriate age group) should my group do. I have seen on this forum ideas about handwashing and healthy eating. Any other suggestions besides these popular topics? Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi everybody, In order to make my schedule full (16 sh), I need one more class to put in my schedule. I am finishing up the last of my prerequisites this Fall, which is just 12 sh. I need one more class in order to satisfy the Illinois grant, which states that 15 or more sh is considered full-time. So this class won't go towards nursing, but may be a class that can be beneficial for myself. After searching on my school's website, I found 2 classes that seem interesting, Histology and Behavioral Neuroscience. Which class should I take? :uhoh21: Have any of you taken any of these classes or know of them, if so, how was the class? Thank you for your time. Simplymel3
  8. Hi, I was wondering if there were any schools out in California that I can apply to, so I can possibly start in the Spring 2008. I am looking for schools with a 4-yr BSN program, preferably near Santa Barbara, Oxnard,... Thanks, SimplyMeL3
  9. Thanks Heloisea, I just took the exam and it was not bad at all. Your advice helped to lessen my fears of the Teas Test. For others, I don't think I will need to search for another location about where another Teas is being held, hopefully.
  10. Hi, I have to take the Teas test tomorrow and I am not sure what to expect, whether or not I will perform well. And I was just curious where another location in Illinois held the Teas test, if I do have to take it again. Perhaps, some of you who have taken the Teas test already can reveal how the experience was for you. I have the study guide and I did so poorly in the Science portion. Is the Science portion that difficult? Thanks, SimplyMeL3
  11. Hi everyone, I was wondering if you guys can help proofread my personal essay. Comment on what I should do different, if there are any grammar errors. Thanks, SimplyMeL3
