Hello,

Yes, I went to a job fair and some of the hospitals gave out salary information. For 37.5 hours/week, Winthrop is $57,750 for new grads, New Island is about $56,000 for new grads, and I was told Mercy Hospital was about the same. Huntington hospital and South Nassau is about $58,250, and don't take my word on this, but someone told me that North shore Manhasset and Plainview are about $60,000 base. These salaries don't include differentials and expericene. I did find that some of the hospitals were higher on night differentials than others. Winthrop's night diff. is an extra $6500 a year ($3.33/hr). Some hospitals were the same and some were less, about $5600. Winthrop requires 13 shifts a month, so that means you do need to work 4 days in one week, once a month, but it is all overtime. Winthrop's benefits are pretty good too, that is something else you need to look at and compare between the hospitals. With some of the hospitals benefits, you had to pay more out of pocket for medical insurance. I don't remember if it was Huntigton or South Nassau, but for Medical Insurance for a family plan, you had to pay about $90 a paycheck, and for winthrop it is about $25 a paycheck for a family plan with United Healthcare. I hope this information helps.
