Winter 2011 GN positions/interviews in Houston, TX

Published

Hi, just wanted to start a trend about where you applied, call backs, interviews and who all got hired.

Would love to hear your stories and anything else to help other graduating nurses.

Does anyone know when MD Anderson will post the application for their next round of the GN program? Also, did I miss St. Luke's winter 2012 application? Their website hasn't been updated from the Fall 2011, but I feel like I might have:/ Thanks! And congrats to those of you who start your internships soon!!

NewH, St. Luke's posted their positions in early Oct and they have done three rounds of interviews and even made some offers. Several of my classmates have accepted. Sorry for the bad news!

Thanks for the info! I assumed as much...I'd been checking their website regularly, and the only info currently there is for the application process from June!:/ Anyone know of any smaller hospitals or LTAC facilities or nursing homes who are currently hiring? I have applied for the GN program at Tenent that starts in Feb. Thanks!

Did anyone long-distance do a phone screen with HCHD? I am doing the entry-level master's program at the U of Minnesota but am moving to Houston because my fiance got a job there a year ago. After my phone screen, I was told I would be called about an interview the next day or day after, but haven't gotten that call yet. Anyone else in a same or similar boat?

My school also doesn't have us to the HESI or ATI tests, so I am wondering if that is why I've been overlooked elsewhere considering my MN degree + previous bachelor's in physiology + Spanish fluency.

NewHouston, Kindred is accepting applications they have an open house by invitation i think december 7th, check their website you will get the information. Good luck

Thanks, Mage7177! I appreciate the lead! Do you know if they consider new graduates? The information I found for the openhouses asked for 6 months experience "preferred." Thank you again!

I worked at Triumph now (Kindred) as a brand new LVN, if they are desperate they will take you, it all depends on the nurse manager. just try you dont know where your luck lies.

Good luck

Has anyone heard from TCH? Or know any details about their new grad positions?

Where are ya'll finding all this information on these hospitals? I've been checking websites and job postings but I can't seem to get the same amount of information as the rest of you. Are ya'll going through HR departments?

I got familiar with all the hopsitals in the area and check their job postings and websites for any information. If I can't find anything, I call the hospital to see what's available, if anything.

TCH GN application was up around November 13 for barely a week. They are just started to call applicants now.

I have an interview on the twelvth of December.

Plover1-what unit? I got an interview with ortho/neuro unit but didn't make the second round. Still holding on to some hope that I can get in to TCH? My son goes there and I love that hospital!
