Will working as a stripper affect my Air Force nursing potential?

Published

I plan on going back to school, getting my BSN and potentially joining the Air Force as a nurse. First, however, I plan to pay off $55,000 in debt I've accumulated by working as a stripper in a gentleman's club. (I am not asking for opinions or judgments in my selection of employment, so please keep any negativity to yourself.) I plan to be out of school and dancing full-time for at least a year and a half. Would this gap in employment (since I don't plan on listing it on my resume) affect my ability to become an Air Force nurse? Would previously working as a stripper affect my ability to become a commissioned officer? Thanks.

I can't say for sure what the AF does, however the Navy would not accept you. Don't hide the job since you have to do a extremely thorough background check. Plus they want there officers to exemplify the highest standards, I am not judging but they have so many applicants that they will use that as a reason to not select you. Best advice, don't give them ammo to reject your app. Good luck.

Could affect your secrutiy clearance & if it does you will not be able to join. You will need to speak with a Health Care recruiter about this.

The one thing that really will affect your security clearance is not telling them.

Lying about your employment or anything else will diffently affect your ability to obtain your security clearance and without that you will not get in.
