HI everybody!!!! There is a retrogression coming up by october right? and how true that it will soon tkae 2-5 years to process papers for nurses to US? How long will it usually take to process papers to FL after passing the NCLEX in HK or Saipan? any news? feedbacks advices on what to do? 2-5 years is soo long esp if it will take 3-5 years?! my goodness! how about it you have a direct employer? how long will it take? thanks!!!

Taking the NCLEX exam has nothing to do with the time for immigration processing. It is just a requirement that need to be done to start the process. It does nto matter which state that you are licensed in or where you are going to work. All are affected by it.

Whether you have a direct employer or go agency, there is no difference in the immigration processing. You are going to be affected by the retorgression. Period.

Until Congress makes more visas available, you are going to be waiting.

Specializes in awaiting for Schedule A visa...

And I would say "It will not take 2 to 5 months and there would be a remedy to this problem". US cannot afford to let its citizens suffer from poor healthcare due to lack of nurses.

Suzanne,

How long after taking NCLEX we 'll have to wait to move to US because of retrogression?

Thank you.

know one really knows at the moment a lot depends if new visas get released and also which countries are going to be affected

Sorry, but last year it was longer, and more are expected to be affected this time.

And for those that post it will cause hardship to Americans, that is also not true. If you factor in the time that it takes for a foreign nurse to get petitioned to work in the US and complete that, it is well over one year.......

So nothing is going to happen right away.
