Hi
I will be taking my Nclex-PN exam in florida by the end of Aug and then i would be moving to Texas by mid sept. After getting results at pearsonvue.com(quick results), how long does it take to receive the physical liecense at home. I want to receive the liecence before i move to Texas. Do u guys think i will receive it before i move to Texas or Shall i call the florida nursing board after i get my result at pearsonvue.com and tell them to mail my liecense to my Texas address.
Would appreciate ur advice and suggestion.
Thanks

When you apply for endorsement it takes 2 weeks for a temporary license you can work on that for I think it is 3 months by that time your License should be in your hands.

Out here in KS I got my license within about a week of getting my results online.
Good luck on the move.

Florida is now running over 30 days before they even look at a license for endorsement. As in the application just sits in a bin untouched. It's beyond maddening. So that temporary work permit will take about 5 weeks, if they don't find an uncrossed t or undotted i. If they do, they'll notify you by mail, to ensure that it will take another month to straighten out.
It took Minnesota one day to issue my license after nclex. It took them two days to give me an ATT.
If you managed a business the way Florida manages nursing licenses, you'd be broke in a week.
Of course, you can't dare to complain, else you might be in for a very long wait.
I think it can be summed up into two words: Florida sucks.

For what it's worth instead of applying for a FL license when you are moving to another state why not just get the orginal license where you are going to be. Nothing says you have to get the FL license first just because you live there.
