  1. No, it is not unusual for 1 nurse to care for 53 Patients but to be the only nurse there for an 8 hour shift is insane, also being that I only have been there like I mentioned before only a week. Yeah I've been thinking and thinking on what I'm going to do for the shift in the morning(6-2). I'm so confused and scared that I will not be able to find another job being that I am pregnant.AWWWWWW:cry:
  2. What should I do? I work at a LTC as a charge nurse. Now when I started this job a week ago I noticed problems. Anyway today I came to work only to find out that I would be the only nurse in the entire building with 53 residents under my care . Everything was fine until it came to my break time finding out that I dont get one. Needless to say I'm 4 months preggers. I am so ready to call state is this right? What should I do I already quit once before within this 1 week span.
  3. Well I forgot to add that I was off the following day and the resd. did fall ended up in the hospital for a week came back with stitches. And yes, to the Ativan I can't stand doing it but if its going to prevent things like this from happening Darn if I do Darn if don't.
  4. Ok so I have a confused resident on my unit T/O for personal alarm no help because resident keeps setting it off because of the confused state(picking apples). Asked an aide to keep an eye on resident impossible because of his workload so I decide to take my work into the room and finish up there. Puhlease papers everywhere because consistently jumping up to prevent the resident from falling. Take the prob to the DON. His response "She has the right to fall". What the..... Oh yeah it is a restraint free facility.:angryfire

Well according to company policy I can not work more than 10 days without having attended orientation. And I can't see me attending it until the latter part of June. I don't the impression of um.... she just started and she's having issues already.:uhoh21:

Ok so I started LTC now its time for orientation. I can't make it for the alotted time due to childcare issues that are not going resolve any time soon. They want to suspend I'd rather quit. Now the the question do I put a "resignation" in writing or verbally express my departure. Never had to quit a job so quick.
  7. I have, but no luck so far. I guess I just I'll have to be slow down and relax and love my babies. I just don't like the fact I'm in someones space for 10 to 12 hours. I find myself tiptoeing through the house like I'm a burgular.(I work the overnight shift). Something will work out.
  8. I need someone anyones input. I'm a new LPN/LVN licensed 6/2006. I'm a private duty Pedi nurse. Here is my dillemma I jumped at the first job offered. I love working Peds but I would perfer to work in a large facility. Now that I have taken this job my resume' goes unanswered. Am I doomed. :uhoh21:
  9. In any given situation I would rather be laughed than have the finger pointed at.

Yes, new grad passed NCLEX June '06:lol2:
  11. I don't know if that is a low blow are you really don't know. LVN is the same as an LPN. Here in Texas its LVN. Louisiana where I'm from its LPN. I guess it differs state to state.
  12. New LVN, Dallas ,Home Health $20 3 day 10 hr shift.
  13. I cut off at 85 also and passed. Have faith in yourself. and stop that because thats what I did banged my head until I got my results.
