i am so late for replying, thank you very much for you warm welcome! i just registered here >

and im now currently in new york,.. :) now i have to take the NCLEX but first i must enroll myself to a NCLEX review course, since i think everything is updated in the medical field..

plus the laws that i have not known yet.

i now need an advice where to enroll..and i'm eye-ing on kaplan, new york branch, can anyone give me a feedback about kaplan?coz i've been seeing some complaints online about that univ. or can you suggest me a good school NCLEX prep to enroll?

thank you very much in advance!

I did the Kaplan review and passed the first time I took the NCLEX. I made sure that I did all the qbank questions and exams, used the review book they gave to look up anything I didn't understand or remember, and always read the rationale whether I got the question right or wrong. I did at least 200 questions a day and don't be afraid to go to the test center and attend those classes. Some people I know didn't need to go to the classes, but I thought it was helpful just to hear the instructor go through each rationale and reinforce the ways to read the question and eliminate unnecessary answers. Good Luck! :nurse:

I am excited for you :hpygrp:

I have no experience with the nursing exam you've already passed. For all I know it is just like the NCLEX - RN. I recommend buying a 2010 NCLEX - RN book with a CD to see how well you do with the practice exam. At the very least this will let you know where you stand & give you some practice with the style of questions on the NCLEX -RN.

The NCLEX- RN doesn't test your body of nursing knowledge, rather it assumes that because you have graduated from nursing school you already have demonstrated this. It tests your judgment, discretion, ability to think critically & solve problems. Most questions are written at the Application and Analysis level. They are not like the questions used to demonstrate just understanding & cannot be answered by recognition or recall. This could ruin your day if your not expecting it.

When you choose a book try to find one that gives many examples of how to comprehend the questions & not just a book with test questions. If you go to an NCLEX – RN review make sure they are going to coach actual test taking and not just review material from nursing school.

The only advice I can offer about Kaplan is from a trusted/respected friend of mine who is a nursing instructor. She raved about the Kaplan NCLEX – RN 2010 -2011 with CD. ISBN number is 978-1-4195-5344-8. She said the best way to prepare is to practice with a CD. She said that Kaplan Review is a "great way to prepare because they teach how to answer the questions and not just give answers."

hugz!

Welcome Rachelle!!! :hrns&wlcm:

Just study hard and believe in yourself. I'm sure you'll pass the NCLEX exam with or without the help of a review center!!! :)
