Hello future class!
I got accepted into Spring 2021 at Wilkes University (BSN-MSN PMHNP): Anyone starting with me?
Anyone doing bedside or thinking of leaving bedside while going to school? Are you going to work FT/PT/PRN? What specialty are you working?
I am looking for other options besides bedside- I am absolutely physically/mentally drained ?
So excited to begin ?

I recently applied for Spring 2021 also and am waiting to hear back. I plan on working f/t still. I totally understand feeling drained, I'm definitely there with you!

I also got accepted into the Spring semester. I am thinking about switching to part time when the program starts. I have been burnt out from bedside for a long time. Currently I am working in trauma ICU. I am excited and nervous :)
Perhaps look into teaching clinicals? And doing PRN bedside. I've thought of doing office work but id rather not be working 5 days a week and going to school.

I have been narrowing down my options for the past month. Wilkes is still my number one choice. I was also looking at Walden, Spring Arbor and Simmons. Wilkes seems to have the best tuition. Once I decide, I'm hoping to get into Jan 2021. We will see! ?

I am currently applying for Wilkes 2021 Spring class for PMHNP. I was told clinical within 40 miles of my zip code, didactic front loaded, preceptors exams, and rare university visits. I really wish I could speak with a recent graduate of the program. I’ve seen many people post, but it’s mostly just ‘it was fine’ which makes me nervous LOL

I just said the same thing. It would be nice to hear from people who have graduated from the program. That would be helpful.

I am starting Spring 2021 at Wilkes. Work 3 12s and planning to continue that until clinicals start :)
I was just reading on another forum that someone said their friend had to pay for the preceptor/clinical time. Have you heard this before?

How long did it take for you to find out if you’re accepted? I am requesting my transcript today, but I also emailed the admissions counselor with some additional questions. I’m willing to work a little harder for clinical placement, but I just realized this semester was the first one they began accepting students for the ‘placement’ program.

Probably about 4-6 weeks. I had been in contact with the admissions counselor since before the previous deadline for fall 2020.

Does the placement program mean they find a preceptor for you?
